The feeling before the season began was that the AL Central was the Royals to lose, as they have, on paper at least, the best team of the bunch. One of the teams expected to be in the mix for the division crown are the Detroit Tigers, who are looking to bounce back after a string of disappointing seasons. The real outsider in the pack are the Minnesota Twins, although they showed last year that their young guys might be ready to take a bit of a step forward. So far, the Twins have been a bit of a disappointment, while the Tigers are having a difficult time keeping up with the pace being set by the defending champion Kansas City Royals and the Chicago White Sox. The Tigers and Twins will hook up for a divisional series over the weekend, the first game of which is on Friday, and both will be looking to make an upwards move in the Central.
