Must Watch MLB Game Series

Written by on June 27, 2016

While it may seem a little hard to believe, we are now fast approaching the midway point of the MLB season. There is starting to be a definite separation in many of the divisions, and that means that many teams are probably now in the position of having to decide whether to buy or sell once the trade deadline rolls around. There are still some games to be played before all of that goes down, though, and we have some pretty nice series to look forward to this coming week. There are a ton of great MLB betting opportunities out there, some of which we will look at in another post, so be sure to check back regularly to MyBookie.ag for all the live odds. Without further ado, let’s take a closer look at a few series that stand out on this week’s schedule.

Top MLB Series of the Week

New York Mets at Washington Nationals – June 27-29

The NL East looks like it is, as expected, turning into a 2-horse race between the Mets and the Nationals. It is Washington who have the upper hand right now, as they have opened up a 3-game lead at the top of the division. The Mets have been slowly closing the gap over the past couple of weeks, though, as Washington has gone just 3-7 in their last 10 games. While it’s certainly going to be tough to go on the road and get a series win against the division leaders, it is worth noting that the Mets are 3 games above .500 on the road this season.

Kansas City Royals at St. Louis Cardinals – June 27-30

When you have interleague games, you generally only get short 2-game series, but this one is a 4-game set that promises to be a great one. The world champion Royals are not having it all their own way this season, and are currently sitting 5 games back of the red hot Cleveland Indians in the AL Central. It’s something of a similar story for the Cardinals over in the NL Central, as they find themselves a distant second behind a Chicago Cubs team that is arguably the best in baseball right now. Neither of these two teams can afford to lose much more ground, so look for them both to go all out on this series.

Cleveland Indians at Toronto Blue Jays – June 30 – July 3

There is no team in baseball hotter than the Cleveland Indians right now, as they come into this week on a 9-game winning streak. The fact that they get the ball rolling this week with a series against the Atlanta Braves suggests that the streak may get a little longer before it ends. They will close out the week with a tricky little trip to Toronto to face a Blue Jays teams that is still trying to find its feet this season. The Jays are 5 back of the division leading Baltimore Orioles right now, and a series win against a very good Indians team might well serve as the catalyst for an extended run of form.
