The MLB season is heading into the final couple of months of the regular season, which means that it’s time for the teams in the playoff hunt to start really buckling down in an effort to secure their spot. A couple of divisions looks to be, outside of an epic collapse, done and dusted, and that means that the battle for Wild card spots is now well and truly underway. Every win is huge at this stage of the season, and you can bet that a number of teams who are out of the postseason picture will be looking to play the role of spoiler. Let’s take a look at the MLB week ahead to see if we can find some games to boost your bankroll. Pay attention to the live odds for every game, as you never know when a real value bet is going to show up.

Here’s a Closer Look At The Top MLB Expert Picks of the Week

Blue Jays over Rays on Aug 9

The Blue Jays have closed the gap in the AL East to just 1 game, and while they have been having a hard time getting to the top of the division, this might well be the week where it actually happens. They get their week rolling with a trip to Tampa Bay to face a Rays teams whose season is already over. Marco Estrada (7-4, 2.29 ERA) will get the start for the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday night, and should be able to extend is win streak to 3 games, especially if he can match the outing he put in versus Houston in his last start.

Chicago Cubs over LA Angels on Aug 10

The Cubs are, once again, on fire, and have gone 9-1 in their last 10 games heading into this week. They have what looks to be a pretty easy start to the week with a series against the struggling LA Angels. This is a series that has sweep written all over it, but the best bet of the series, in my opinion, comes on Wednesday night with Jason Hammel (11-5, 3.07 ERA) on the mound. He has won his last 4 starts, giving up just 4 earned runs in the process. This should be 5 in a row for him.

NY Mets over Arizona Diamondbacks on Aug 11

The Mets have proven to be something of a disappointment this season, but they are still very much in the Wild Card picture. They need to get things rolling in the final weeks of the season, and they can give themselves a boost with a series win over an Arizona Diamondbacks, who are having something of a nightmare season. The best shot for the Mets to pick up a win in this series comes on Thursday night, when Noah Syndergaard (9-6, 2.64 ERA) takes to the mound. Syndergaard has not picked up a win since July 3rd, but he has certainly not pitched poorly during that stretch. I think that this will be the night where he finally gets some run support and a win.
