Top MLB Expert Picks Of The Week (September 6th to 9th)

Written by on September 5, 2016

It’s another very busy week of MLB action, and we are now at the stage of the season where wins and losses really start to matter. The teams who are still chasing a playoff spot are well aware that every loss they take from here on out can take them a step further away from the postseason promised land. There are also a few teams who are on the brink of clinching a division title, and they know that every win takes them a step closer to being able to relax a little ahead of the playoffs. With all of this in mind, let’s take a look at some games that might allow you to pocket some money this week. Remember, MyBookie.ag will have all the latest betting odds for these games, as well as all the others on the MLB calendar this week.

In Depth Analysis On The Top MLB Expert Picks Of The Week (September 6th to 9th)

Chicago Cubs over the Milwaukee Brewers – Tuesday

The Chicago Cubs are one team that can probably start to relax right now, especially since they have already built up a 16.5-game lead in their division. No-one seems to have told hem this, though, as they continue to go out and play hard every single night. 12 more wins will see them hit 100 for the season, and you get the definite sense that they want that number. Jason Hammel will be on the mound on Tuesday, and that usually means that the Cubs get the win.

New York Mets over the Cincinnati Reds – Wednesday

The Mets were a team on a mission this season, as they were looking to go one better than they did last year, when they lost the World Series to the Royals. Things have not gone according to plan, though, and they are in real danger of missing the playoffs. They have been playing very good ball as of late, though, and they always have a shot to win with Noah Syndergaard on the mound. You have to like Syndergaard going against a Reds team that is just 3-7 in their last 10 games heading into this week.

Cleveland Indians over the Houston Astros – Thursday

This should be a great series that really could go either way, especially when you consider that both teams are very much in the playoff picture. The Indians are the more likely of the two to still be playing once the regular season ends, since they have a pretty comfortable little lead in their division. While I expect this series to be close, I think the Indians have the edge on Thursday night. They will have Trevor Bauer on the mound, and he has been magnificent of late. Look for him to come up big again in this one.

Cincinnati Reds over the Pittsburgh Pirates – Friday

It’s not very often that I get my money out and put it on the Reds, but I am more inclined to do so when Dan Straily takes to the mound for them. He will be up again on Friday night versus the Pittsburgh Pirates, and I think that means a win for the Reds. The Pirates look as though they are done, whereas Straily is finishing his season on a high, having gone 7-1 in his last 10 starts. I’m taking the Reds in this one.
