Top MLB SU Expert Picks Of The Weekend (Sep 2-4)

Written by on September 2, 2016

We are at the point of the MLB season where the talk turns to magic numbers to clinch divisions and playoff spots, and that means that every single game still to be played takes on a higher level of importance. There are a number of teams who have all but clinched their divisions, but there are also still a lot of teams who have their eyes on a Wild Card spot. There are some games that look like definite wins this weekend, but it’s worth remembering that some of the lesser teams will have expanded their rosters with prospects from the minors. That may give those teams a little bit of a jump that has been missing for the majority of the season. With all of that in mind, let’s take a look at what I think are the best straight up online betting picks of the weekend.

Top MLB SU Expert Picks Of The Weekend (Sep 2-4)

Cleveland Indians over Miami Marlins – Friday

These two teams don’t hook up very often, so you have to dig a little deeper to separate the two of them. One stat that jumps out is what the Cleveland Indians have been able to do this season, which is to post a very good 16-5 record in Friday games. They also have a winning record in interleague games, and I think all of that adds up to a win over the Marlins on Friday night.

New York Mets over Washington Nationals – Friday

Noah Syndergaard has won his last two starts for the Mets, and only gave up 1 earned run in those games. He is borderline unhittable at the moment, and while the Nationals have had their way with the Mets this season, I think they will struggle here. I’m going with the Mets for the win on Friday.

Cincinnati Reds over St. Louis Cardinals – Saturday

While I like the St. Louis Cardinals to win this series, I believe there is an opportunity for the Reds to get a win on Saturday. They will have Dan Straily on the mound, and the Reds tend to win when he starts. Straily had a rough start the last time out, but prior to that, he had put together a 6-0 record in 8 starts, with the Reds winning each of those games. This looks like a good chance to get the Reds at a very decent price.

LA Dodgers over San Diego Padres – Saturday

The Dodgers have taken control of the NL West, and they will see this series as a legitimate opportunity to open up a bigger lead on the Giants. This is a series that they could well sweep, but I particularly like them to win on Saturday with Kenta Maeda on the mound. He has a 5-1 record in his last 7 starts, and should be too much for the Padres.

Texas Rangers over Houston Astros – Sunday

This looks like being one of the best series of the MLB weekend, and it’s one that could be decided on Sunday. If that is the case, then I like the Rangers to take the series with Yu Darvish on the mound. He is rounding into form, and has gone 3-0 in his last 5 starts, with the Rangers winning all 5 of those games. Going with the Rangers in this one.
