There are some great baseball games on tap for this week. Major League Baseball has a few series on tap that most will want to keep an eye out on. Let’s look at the Top Major League Baseball Betting Series of the Week. Also, be sure to check out more online sportsbook odds by clicking here.

A Quick Look at the Top MLB Betting Series of the Week (May 23 to 29)

First, the St. Louis Cardinals host the Chicago Cubs. The last time these two teams got together, the Cubs won the first two games of the series, and the Cardinals avoided the sweep in a rain delay’ed game. The Cardinals are in third place in the National League Central. And 7 games behind the Cubs. St. Louis will feature Adam Wainwright, Michael Wacha and Carlos Martinez to the mound. The Cubs are still the best team in baseball via the standings. Despite holding a 6 game lead in the division, the Cubs have lost four out of their last six games. Chicago was shut out Sunday night against Madison Bumgarner and the San Francisco Giants. The Cubs will send John Lackey, Jason Hammel and Jake Arrieta to the mound in this series. According to the Las Vegas betting lines, the best bet would be the take the home team; Cardinals +108 on Monday, but then the Cubs in the Tuesday and Wednesday game as big favorites in both. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, in a battle of American League East teams, the Toronto Blue Jays are at the New York Yankees. While these two teams have struggled to start the season, they are both teams that made the postseason a season ago. The Yankees have been playing much better baseball, and are 21-22 on the season, for third place in the American League East. For Toronto, they are just a game behind that pace; at 22-24. The Blue Jays are in last in the division, ½ game behind the Tampa Bay Rays. The series will feature R.A. Dickeye against Nathan Eovaldi on Tuesday, with the Yankees holding a slight betting edge in that game. Wednesday, Marco Estrada for the Toronto Blue Jays will go against Ivan Nova of the Yankees. Both pitchers have good earned run averages, it will depend on which team gets better run support. Vegas has this game pretty much a toss up, and that seems to be the right wager. Finally, Thursday it’s Aaron Sanchez of Toronto against C.C. Sabathia of the Yankees. Sabathia is coming off an injury, but is the slight favorite in this one. If you are betting on these series, the smartest move is to take the Yankees on the front and back of the series, and the Blue Jays in the middle game! The final series of the week features the Washington Nationals hosting the St. Louis Cardinals. This is a four game series in the nation’s capital. The Nationals swept the Cardinals in four games in St. Louis earlier in the season. The Cardinals will send Mike Leake, Jaime Garcia, Adam Wainwright and Michael Wacha to the mound. They will face a tough foursome of Joe Ross, Max Scherzer, Gio Gonzalez and Stephen Strasburg. The Nationals are the favorites in all four games, due to being at home. It’s hard to bet against Washington the way they are playing, and the way the Cardinals struggle against good teams. If we had to bet this early, we would recommend taking the St. Louis Cardinals in the third game, with veteran Adam Wainwright going. There you have it.
