Written by on June 27, 2017

It’s hard to believe that we are now into the final couple of weeks of the first half of the season, but that is exactly where we are, and there are some great divisional battles and MLB picks for the games going on right now. One of the more intriguing ones is going down in the AL East, where the Yankees and Red Sox have made a triumphant return to form. They are neck and neck right now, and how they are this week may determine who is on top by the end of the week. The Arizona Diamondbacks are having a great season, and are currently keeping pace with the LA Dodgers in the NL West. They will be looking to continue rolling as we approach the All-Star Break. Find the latest MLB run lines here.

Updated 2017 MLB Picks & Favorites For Wednesday, June 28th

Minnesota Twins (39-35) at Boston Red Sox (42-34)

When: Wednesday, June 28 at 7:10 PM EST Where: Fenway Park, Boston TV: MLBN Probable Pitchers: Adalberto Meija Vs Rick Porcello Analysis: The Minnesota Twins have been one of the surprise teams of the season, and have held the lead at the top of the AL Central for a good portion of the season. A 5-5 record in the past 10 games has seen them slip out of that top spot, though, allowing the Cleveland Indians to slip ahead of them. They will be looking to get back on track, and need to bounce back after losing the opening game of this series 4-1. Adalberto Meija (2-3, 4.93 ERA) was brilliant in his last outing, allowing only 2 hits in 5 innings of work. The Red Sox need to be more than a little annoyed at their inability to take advantage of the slide that the New York Yankees are currently experiencing. Boston are just 5-5 in their last 10 games, and remain tied for first with their bitter rivals. With a 23-13 record at home, the Red Sox will be looking to take advantage of being in their own park for this series, and they got off to a good start with the win on Monday. Rick Porcello (4-9, 5.00 ERA) will start for Boston. MLB Picks: Minnesota Twins 4 Boston Red Sox 6

New York Yankees (41-33) at Chicago White Sox (32-43)

When: Wednesday, June 28 at 8:10 PM EST Where: Guaranteed Rate Field, Chicago TV: MLBN Probable Pitchers: Masahiro Tanaka Vs Carlos Rodon Analysis: There can be no denying that this has been a better than expected first half for the Yankees, but they are in danger of hurting their cause if they continue to slide. They are just 3-10 in their last 13 games, which included a rather nasty 7-game losing skid. They are starting to give up far too many runs, and the offense is not doing enough to keep them in games. Masahiro Tanaka (5-7, 5.74 ERA) will be on the mound for the Yankees. The White Sox struggles may be even worse than what the Yankees are experiencing right now, as they look to have no way out of the skid that has seen them win only 1 game in their last 8. They started off this series with a decent effort, but ended up going down 6-5, falling just short of a dramatic 9th inning comeback. Carlos Rodon will make his season debut after sitting out the season through injury. MLB Picks: New York Yankees 7 Chicago White Sox 2 St. Louis Cardinals will be coming into this series feeling good about themselves after winning back to back games .

St. Louis Cardinals (35-40) at Arizona Diamondbacks (49-28)

When: Wednesday, June 28 at 9:40 PM EST Where: Chase Field, Phoenix TV: MLBN Probable Pitchers: Adam Wainwright Vs Zack Godley Analysis: The St. Louis Cardinals will be coming into this series feeling good about themselves after winning back to back games that put them within 4.5 games of the division lead. It’s small comfort for a team that is underachieving so far, and they are only that close to the top because the rest of the teams in the division are having down years. At just 15-20 on the road, the Cardinals look to be up against it here. Adam Wainwright (7-5, 5.35 ERA) will start. The Diamondbacks have spent most of the season watching the Rockies and Dodgers go toe to toe at the top of the division, but they have now snuck ahead of Colorado, and are just a game and a half back of LA. Arizona have won 3 straight coming into this series, and are an impressive 29-10 in their own ball park. They must be looking at this home stand as a chance to continue closing the gap. Zack Godley (3-1, 2.53 ERA) will be on the mound. MLB Picks: St. Louis Cardinals 3 Arizona Diamondbacks 5
