Weekly Updated 2017 MLB Free Picks (June 19th)

Written by on June 19, 2017

The New York Yankees are in the midst of their biggest struggles of the season, but the Cleveland Indians and Oakland A’s are on a bit of a roll. The Cincinnati Reds are fading faster than a pair of well-worn blue jeans while the Arizona Diamondbacks, Colorado Rockies and Los Angeles Dodgers are all riding the wave of recent winning streaks. If it’s Monday, then the start of a new week means it’s time for another round of MLB Free Picks of the Week.

Here’s A Closer Look At The Weekly Updated 2017 MLB Free Picks (June 19th)

Cleveland Indians (36-31) at Baltimore Orioles (34-34)

When: Tuesday, June 20 at 7:05 PM ET Where: Oriole Park at Camden Yards TV: MASN, MLBN Probable Pitchers: Cleveland – Josh Tomlin – R (4-8, 5.83 ERA) / Baltimore – Chris Tillman – R (1-5, 8.07 ERA) Analysis: Heading into Monday night, the Indians had won five straight and seven of 10 while Baltimore won two straight to improve to an uninspiring 3-7 over their last 10. Josh Tomlin allowed four runs on seven hits in 5.0 innings in his last start while striking out seven to get the win against the Dodgers. Tomlin is 3-3 with a 5.19 ERA against the Orioles in his career. Chris Tillman allowed five earned runs on a season-high 11 hits in 5.1 innings in his last start. Tillman’s ERA is up to 8.07 after allowing a whopping 14 runs, including four home runs over just 6.2  innings in his last two times out. The Indians are the easy pick here to stay hot MLB bettors. Pick: Cleveland 6 Baltimore 3

Los Angeles Angels at New York Yankees

When: Wednesday, June 21 at 7:05 PM ET Where: Yankee Stadium TV: MLBN, YES Probable Pitchers: Los Angeles – Ricky Nolasco – R (2-8, 5.01 ERA) / New York – Jordan Montgomery – L (4-4, 3.78 ERA) Analysis: The Angels are a modest 5-5 over their last 10 games and will send struggling right-hander Ricky Nolasco to the mound in this affair. Nolasco has been pounded recently and has given up a whopping 21 home runs this season. New York rookie southpaw Jordan Montgomery struggled in his last start in giving up four runs on seven hits in 5.2 innings against Oakland but he struck out five while allowing just one walk. Despite their recent struggles, the halos are just 15-21 on the road while the Yankees are a blistering 22-9 at home this season, making them the easy pick to win outright behind the clearly gifted Jordan Montgomery. Pick: Yankees 5 Angels 3 New York Mets (31-37) at Los Angeles Dodgers (44-26)

New York Mets (31-37) at Los Angeles Dodgers (44-26)

When: Thursday, June 22 at 10:10 PM ET Where: Dodger Stadium TV: SNY, MLBN Probable Pitchers: New York – Steven Matz – L (1-1, 3.21 ERA) / Los Angeles – Alex Wood – L (7-0, 1.90 ERA) Analysis: Mets southpaw has been rock-solid since returning from the disabled list earlier this month, going seven innings in each of his first two starts. For his career, Matz is 2-0 with a 1.50 ERA, 13 strikeouts and three walks in two career road starts at Dodger Stadium. Dodgers left-hander Alex Wood won the Pitcher of the Month award for May and comes into this contest off another phenomenal outing after limiting Cincinnati to just three hits in his last start. Wood is the first Dodger to go undefeated his first 10 starts of the season since Orel Hershiser in 1985. While Steven Matz is throwing the ball well right now, Alex Wood has been absolutely jaw-dropping for the Dodgers this season and looks like he’ll be a double-digit winner for a long time. With L.A. going 25-10 at home this season, the Dodgers are the easy pick to win and cash in. Pick: Dodgers 5 Mets 3
