Written by on July 28, 2017

We have always try to have some picks for the coming weekend, and while some MLB money lines are not available until game day, we have put together some straight up picks that might be worth having look at. Let’s break down the action over the next 3 days and point baseball fans to the games that offer the best value for MLB SU bets.

Winning MLB SU Picks for the Weekend Action (Jul 29-30)

The final weekend before the MLB trade deadline is a big one, and we have already seen a number of moves hit the trade wire in the past few days. Expect the activity to go up a notch between now and Monday as teams try and improve their squad heading into the home stretch of the season. For baseball bettor, it’s business as usual, as we all try to pick out the potential winners in a jam-packed weekend calendar.

Things You Need to Know Before Betting on the 2017 World Series 2017 MLB Midseason Review and Revised World Series Picks

Houston Astros over Detroit Tigers – Friday

Friday, July 28th, 5:10 PM
Comerica Park, Detroit, Michigan
Given how good the Astros have been this season, this game already looks like a bit of a mismatch. It becomes even more conclusive when you look at what Dallas Keuchel has done on the mound for Houston this season. How many pitchers can say they are still unbeaten at this stage of the season? Keuchel can, as he has a remarkable 9-0 record, not to mention a 1.67 ERA that is sure to strike fear into the hearts of opposing batters. This looks like a very comfortable win for Houston.

Texas Rangers over Baltimore Orioles – Friday

Friday, July 28th, 6:05 PM
Globe Life Park, Arlington, Texas
These are two teams heading in the wrong direction right now, but I believe that one of them has a definite advantage here.

Baltimore Orioles MLB SU Betting Picks

The Baltimore Orioles have been pretty awful on the road this season, going just 18-32 so far. The Texas Rangers on the other hand are 4 games above .500 in their own ball park, despite struggling overall for large chunks of the season. Let’s give this one to the Rangers.

Arizona Diamondbacks over St. Louis Cardinals – Saturday

Saturday, July 29th, 6:15 PM Busch Stadium, St. Louis, Missouri The Diamondbacks appear to have a little bit of their swagger back, and while chasing down the Dodgers in the West looks like a long shot, they are still very much in good shape in the Wild Card race. A good deal of their success this season needs to go to their pitching staff, and Zack Greinke in particular. Greinke had an off season last year, but has bounced back brilliantly this season. I like him to pick up win number 13 on Saturday night in St. Louis.

Pittsburgh Pirates over San Diego Padres – Saturday

Saturday, July 29th, 6:40 PM Petco Park, San Diego, California The series between these two teams is essentially meaningless, but by overlooking it, you may be missing out on an opportunity to win some money. Ivan Nova has been putting together a decent season on the mound for the Pirates. While he was shelled in his last outing, I think he will bounce back nicely against a rather anemic Padres batting order. I like the Pirates to go on the road and steal one on Saturday.

Kansas City Royals over Boston Red Sox – Sunday

Sunday, July 30, 11:35 AM
Fenway Park, Boston
The Royals are red hot right now, coming into the weekend on an impressive 8-game winning streak. Jason Hammel will be looking for his 3rd straight win. He will also be looking to continue lowering his season ERA, which he has done nicely over his last 5 starts.

Red Sox vs Royals MLB SU Picks

On the other side of the coin is Eduardo Rodriguez, who is winless in his last 3 starts, and who has given up a total of 14 earned runs during that stretch. I like the Royals to come away with the road win on Sunday.

Milwaukee Brewers over Chicago Cubs – Sunday

Sunday, July 30th, 12:10 PM Miller Park, Milwaukee, Wisconsin The NL Center is focused on the Cubs and their momentum. Although, the Milwaukee Brewers are only 1.5 games behind the current MLB champs and they can spoil Chicago’s plans. The Brewers need some wins this weekend to stop the lead at the top from growing for the Cubs. I think their best shot at getting a win in this pivotal series comes on Sunday with Zack Davies on the mound. Davies has gone unbeaten in his last 7 starts, picking up wins in 6 of those games, and look too be a better bet than veteran John Lackey, who has looked shaky at times this season.
