Why New York Yankees are a good bet at +125?

The Yankees bats scored 4 runs off Justin Verlander in the first inning and NYY never looked back. By securing a 4-1 Game 5 victory, New York heads to Houston with some momentum. The good news in Game 6 is that the Yankees field one of the top bullpens in MLB. Don’t let the 4.08 regular season ERA fool you. Manager Aaron Boone has used his bullpen in every game during the playoffs. If there is any manager who can strategize around a bullpen game, it’s Boone. The Yankees have a real shot of forcing a Game 7.

Why Houston Astros are a good bet at -152?

The Houston Astros, no doubt, wanted to win Game 5. They didn’t, but there are some positives around the Yankees heading into Game 6. First, the Astros are at home where the trends say they should have a much better outing at the plate. Second, Houston stranded plenty of batters on Friday night. With better hitting in key spots, they might have taken Game 5. Now back at home, the Astros have no doubt their bullpen is better suited for 9 innings than the Yankees’ bullpen. Game 6 sets up for an Astros victory.

ALCS Game 6 Yankees vs Astros Betting Analysis

Aaron Boone has used his bullpen in every game during the MLB Playoffs because none of his starters are capable of throwing past 6 innings. That alone gives A.J. Hinch and the Astros the advantage in Game 6.

More importantly, Hinch planned for a bullpen start on Saturday. He knew going in that if Houston lost Game 5, he’d hold Gerrit Cole back for Game 7 if needed. Hinch won’t throw a starter onto the mound off short rest again. That’s not his deal after it blew up in the Astros’ faces in the ALDS against the Rays.

But, Hinch doesn’t want Cole to have to pitch on Sunday. He’d much rather have Gerrit show up on the mound in Game 1 of the World Series on Tuesday. For that to happen, the Astros must win on Saturday.

Their chances are excellent. Hinch showed faith in Verlander by keeping him in for 7 innings. That allowed Houston’s manager to only use Brad Peacock, a starter during the regular season, for an inning. Expect Peacock to throw 5 or 6 innings on Saturday while Boone regularly swaps out pitchers.

Eventually, the Astros should get to a New York reliever. Houston wins Game 6 and prepares to take on the Washington Nationals in the 2019 World Series.
