Czech Republic GP Analysis – MotoGP Betting

Written by on August 7, 2020

Like most other sports across the globe, MotoGP has been forced to put together a new schedule for 2020 after seeing their season shut don before it even began. For now, they have a 12-race schedule in place with an eye on adding one more race at the end of the year. It is still very early in the season, but it is beginning to look as though we may see Marc Marquez dethroned as the champion after winning titles in a row and 5 of the last 6. There are still a lot of races to come, though, so predicting a champion right now might not be the easiest thing to do. This weekend, the riders will be in the Czech Republic for another huge race. Let’s take a look at some of the potential favorites so you can make your bets against their MotoGP odds.

Czech Republic GP Analysis – MotoGP Betting

Fabio Quartararo

Last season was the first full year in MotoGP for the French rider, and it proved to be a very successful debut season. Quartararo finished 5th in the overall standings, but he was unable to pick up a single win in 2019. This year has proven that he might well be ready to go the distance, as he has won both races to start the season. Whether he can maintain that pace remains to be seen, but he has certainly set himself up as the man to beat. In his Moto Career, he has not had a ton of success in the Czech Republic, with his 7th place finish there last season being his best.

Andrea Dovizioso

The Italian rider has been one of the best in the world over the past few seasons, finishing second in the overall standings behind Marquez in each of the last 2 seasons. It looks as though he is going to be among the leaders again this season, as he is sitting in 3rd after the first 2 races of the year. He came out in the opening race of the season, taking the podium with a 3rd place finish, which he followed up with a 6th place finish at the Andalusia Grand Prix. He has a win and a 2nd place finish in his last 2 races in the Czech Republic and I like him to win this weekend.

Maverick Vinales

This is another rider who is very much in contention for a world championship this season after a very strong start to the year. Vinales is currently 2nd in the MotoGP driver standings after back to back 2nd place finishes in the first two races of the season. Over his last 3 seasons in MotoGP, Vinales has posted 6 wins, and while none of those came in the Czech Republic, he did finish in the top 3 in each of his last 2 runs there. If he is to win it all this year, he needs to start turning those seconds into firsts.

Francesco Bagnaia

After the top 3 favorites for this race, the odds drop off quite dramatically, so you are definitely looking at a longshot if you decide to wager on Bagnaia. This is just the second full season in MotoGP for the Italian rider, with his best result in the Czech Republic coming in his final season in Moto2, when he finished 3rd. Last season, he landed in 12th in this race, so it is tough to see him coming away with the win on Sunday.
