MotoGP Deutschland Grand Prix Betting Favorites, Analysis & Prediction

No matter what sport you enjoy, we all know that winning a championship in consecutive seasons is tough. For a period of time in MotoGP, Marc Marquez made that task look easy, but injuries in recent years have ended his dominance in the sport, leaving the door open for other racers to take control. After 6 weeks of the season, the defending champion, Francesco Bagnaia, has the lead in the championship standings, but there are still plenty of races to come for that to change. This weekend, the action shift to Germany for the next race on the schedule. Let’s take a look the MotoGP betting analysis at the current top 4 to see how they might do this weekend.

Francesco Bagnaia

Like we said at the top of this piece, Bagnaia came into the 2023 season as the defending World Champion, and while we are just 6 races into the season, it is clear that he is not about to give up his title without a fight. Bagnaia has opened up a 21-point lead at the top of the standings after his win in Italy for the 2nd straight season, which means that he now has 3 wins on the year. While he would love to extend that lead, Germany has not been kind to him. He failed to finish there last season and ran 5th the year prior, so he may be a little vulnerable at this venue.

Marco Bezzecchi

You do have to say that it is a little surprising to see Bezzecchi sitting in 2nd after 6 races this season. This is just his 2nd full year at this level, with his debut season on MotoGP something of a quiet affair. He finished 14th overall and failed to win a race in 2022, but he has come storming out of the gate and already has a pair of wins to his name in 2023. The question now is whether he has what it takes to hang around in the race for the World Championship. He ran 11th in Germany last season, but I expect better this time around.

Jorge Martin

After a bit of an up and down start to the season, where Martin failed to finish, or pick up points, in 2 of the first 3 races, he has settled down quite nicely. Over the last 3 races, Martin had a pair of podium finishes and has not been worse than 4th, which makes you feel as though that first win is close. In fairness, if he really wants to get into the championship race, he needs to start turning those positive runs into wins. Martin ran 6th in Germany last season, 6 places higher than his previous run, so perhaps a top 3 looks good again this weekend.

Brad Binder

The 3 racers that we have already discussed have already passed the 100-point mark on the season, which puts them in rarefied air. Binder, though, is not that far off the pace, sitting on 92 points after the opening 6 races, but he really cannot afford to lose any more ground, even with a lot of races still to come. Binder finished 4th and 7th, respectively in his last 2 races in Germany, so while a win may be a longshot, a top 5 does not seem out of the question.
