NBA 2020 Conference Finals Expert Analysis

Written by on September 24, 2020

With Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals set for Thursday night and Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals going down on Friday, it’s time to find out which two teams will advance to the 2020 NBA Finals. Let’s get started in the Western Conference so you can keep making your bets against their NBA Playoffs odds.

NBA Betting Picks – Who Will in Both Conference Clashes?

Los Angeles Lakers Vs Denver Nuggets

Los Angeles is a -1010 pick to advance while Denver is a +705 pick to pull off the series upset. The Lakers head into Game 4 up 2-1, but they’ll be taking on a Nuggets team that has already made NBA history by becoming the first team to come back from, not one, but two, 3-1 series deficits.

The Lakers won Game 1 by the score of 126-114 to cash in as a 7-point favorite. Los Angeles then got past Denver 105-103 on Anthony Davis’ game-winning three-pointer as time expired despite failing to cover the chalk as a 7.5-point favorite. Denver took Game 3 by the score of 114-106 to cover the spread as a 6.5-point underdog as Jamal Murray came alive with a team-high 28 points and Jerami Grant added a playoff career-high 26 points.

Now, the Nuggets head into Game 4 as a 6-point underdog – and they have some legitimate hopes of evening up the Western Conference Finals. The Lakers are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games following an ATS loss while the Nuggets are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games as an underdog.

The Lakers are 4-1 SU in their last five games against Denver, but the Nuggets are 4-2 SU in their last six games overall. Still, I can’t imagine Los Angeles not coming out of the west, if only because they have the best two players in this series in LeBron James and Anthony Davis, plus a huge edge in playoff experience. I’m going with L.A. to get it done in six games, MyBookie NBA betting faithful.

Boston Celtics Vs Miami Heat

Miami is a -435 pick to win the Eastern Conference finals while Boston is currently a +335 pick to come back and advance. Miami took Game 1 by the score of 117-114 in overtime to cover the spread as a 2-point underdog as Goran Dragic scored a team-high 29 points while Jae Crowder added 22 points and Jimmy Butler, 20 points.

Boston suffered their second straight second-half collapse by falling to Miami 106-101 while failing to cover the spread as a 3-point favorite. Dragic scored a team-high 25 points and five other Heat players scored in double figures as Miami outscored Boston 37-17 in the third quarter.

The Celtics bounced back to win Game 3 by the score of 117-106 as Jaylen Brown scored a team-high 26 points, while Jayson Tatum added 25 points, Kemba Walker, 21 points and Marcus Smart, 20 points. Unfortunately for the C’s, they came out flat in their all-important Game 4 matchup on Wednesday night as Miami rookie guard Tyler Herro scored a game and career-high 37 points while shooting 14-for-21 from the field and 5-for-10 from beyond the arc. Now, down 3-1, I’ve got Boston taking Game 5 on Friday night before falling in Game 6 on Sunday.

Miami has gone a blistering 11-2 ATS in their last 13 games and an equally impressive 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games following an SU and ATS win. Boston is 7-1-1 ATS in their last nine games following an ATS loss and 5-2-1 ATS in their last eight games following an SU loss.

In the end, I’ve got both conference finals ending in an identical six games as the Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat advance to the 2020 NBA Finals!
