With the start of the 2020-21 NBA season under way and the rumors have slowed down considerably, there are still a handful of rumors taking place across the league’s landscape. While teams are still in the feeling out process that is the early season, some potential trades could take place sooner rather than later. Here’s a look at who could be on the move so you get all set to make your bets against their NBA odds.
NBA Rumors With Week 1 Underway
PJ Tucker – F – Houston
Last season, P.J. Tucker averaged what looks like a modest 6.9 points, 6.6 rebounds per game, but the fact of the matter is that those numbers don’t come close to telling how good this do-it-all veteran is. Tucker averaged 1.1 steals and shot 35.8% from three-point range distance, but that’s not all. Even at 6-6, Tucker can literally guard every position on the floor when called upon. Tucker is also one of the best corner three-point shooters in the league and a locker room leader of the highest degree. Moving forward, I can easily see some championship contender look to acquire the wily veteran.
Kemba Walker – PG – Boston
Just one season after joining Boston in the hopes he could be the player to put them over the top, Kemba Walker’s name is surfacing as a potential player that could be moved in the near future. While the 30-year-old four-time all-star averaged 20.4 points and 4.8 assists per game last season, he also only played in just 56 games while battling longstanding knee issues.
Walker is currently out to begin the season and the Celtics will get a chance to see heady rookie point guard Payton Pritchard in his absence. Walker signed a four-year $141 million deal with Boston prior to last season and is owed an average of $35.1 million the next two seasons with a player option for $37.6 million in 2022-23. However, Boston could now look to move the oft-injured Walker and one rumor says they could seek a deal with Orlando for veterans Aaron Gordon and Evan Fournier. Believe it or not MyBookie basketball betting faithful, I can see Boston moving Walker in some sort of deal.
Mavs Want Beal?
While Dallas had what I believe was the worst offseason period of any western conference championship hopeful, a ongoing rumor has Dallas still wanting to acquire Washington Wizards all-star shooting guard Bradley Beal. The Mavs wants to add a third star to the combination of Luka Doncic and the oft-injured Kristaps Porzingis and Beal looks like a perfect fit.
In order to pry Beal away from Washington, Dallas would reportedly part ways with Tim Hardaway Jr., Josh Richardson, rookie Tyrell Terry, a 2025 first round pick and a 2027 first round pick. I’m thinking the Wizards will want to see how well Russell Westbrook pairs with Beal and the team’s young core before making any moves.
I have read enough, I need to place my bet now. What to do?
