Latest NBA Betting News & Rumors | Nov. 9th Edition

Serging in L.A.?

No, I didn’t spell surging wrong. In this case, there’s a new rumor that says the Los Angeles Lakers are going to pursue Toronto Raptors veteran big man Serge Ibaka as soon as free agency begins. The 31-year-old NBA champion averaged 15.4 points and 8.2 rebounds per game this past season and would fit well within a Lakers frontcourt that likely won’t have center Dwight Howard back next season.

Howard In Demand!

And speaking of Howard, the 34-year-old, eight-time NBA all-star is suddenly in demand after having what amounted to a fine season with the Lakers in 2019-20. While Howard failed to average double figures in scoring for the first time in his 16-year career, Howard did manage to put up 7.5 points and 7.3 boards per game in just 18.9 minutes per game. Howard is still athletically gifted and will almost assuredly be seeking a bigger role with some team this coming campaign. Rumors say the Golden State Warriors are going to be in hot pursuit of Howard, but the veteran big man will have other suitors as well.

Bucks All In On Bogdanovic?

Recent rumors say the Milwaukee Bucks could go after sweet-shooting Sacramento Kings restricted free agent forward Bogdan Bogdanovic after he put up 15.1 points per game while shooting a healthy 37.2 percent from beyond the arc. Sacramento would have to agree to a sign-and-trade deal with Milwaukee with reports saying the Kings will try to move Harrison Barnes and the three years remaining on the extension he signed with Sacramento prior to last season.

Chauncey Billups, Larry Drew Finalizing Contracts to Join Clippers Staff

New Los Angeles Clippers coach Tyronn Lue is filling out his staff, with Chauncey Billups and Larry Drew reportedly finalizing deals to join him as assistant coaches in L.A. Lue was named head coach of the Clippers in October after finishing last season as an assistant to Doc Rivers with the Clippers.

NBA Draft 2020: Teams Not interested in Trading for No. 1 or No. 2 Picks

With no clear-cut, franchise-changing talent in this year’s NBA Draft, teams across the league are now reluctant to trade any future assets or significant veterans for a pick that could net them a good, but not franchise-altering talent with either of the top two picks. With Minnesota and Golden State both reportedly looking to add veterans to their ‘win now’ rosters, stay tuned for more developments on the top two picks.

C’s All In On Okongwu?

It’s no secret the Boston Celtics are looking to add help in the frontcourt in the from of a talented big man that could provide, both, rebounding and rim protection. Recent rumors say that the C’s could be looking to package all three of their first round draft picks (Nos. 14, 26 and 30) in order to move up in the draft to take former USC big man Onyeka Okongwu, a player that is projected to go inside the top 10.

Is Brooklyn In The House?

In the words of the immortal Notorious B.I.G. Is Brooklyn in the house? – Without a doubt!

Recent rumors say the Nets are looking to add a third star to the duo of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving and they could purse Portland Trail Blazers all-star C.J. McCollum. If I’m the Blazers, I want the blossoming Caris LeVert back in any deal first and foremost. Stay tuned!

From Herro to Zero?

Yes, Miami Heat rookie guard Tyler put his name on the map as a potential future star this past postseason, but Pat Riley is reportedly willing to part ways with the young guard if he can land highly sought after veteran Jrue Holiday. Miami won’t be alone in its pursuit of the veteran combo guard as title contenders in both conferences want Holiday in the worst way after he put up 19.1 points and 6.4 assists per game this past season.

Does Devin Booker want out of Phoenix?

Is this even a real question? Hell yes, Booker wants out of Phoenix despite the fact that the Suns went a perfect 8-0 in the Orlando Bubble. Booker is a legitimate superstar and his talents are being wasted in Phoenix where the Suns still don’t look like they’ll be challenging anyone for a few years!

Final Destination?

Utah Jazz center Rudy Goebert is almost assuredly going to be on the move during free agency. The shot-blocking all-star is reportedly on the wish list of a bunch of teams, starting with Boston, Dallas, Golden State, Toronto and the L.A. Clippers. The Jazz will look to make the best deal possible, so stay tuned for more on where Goebert lands.

Harden to the City of Brotherly Love

Last, but certainly not least, rumors say that the Philadelphia 76ers could be looking to make a huge deal that would move young star Ben Simmons for Houston Rockets superstar James Harden. New Sixers GM Daryl Morey absolutely loves Harden and could try to bring him to Philly to pair him with Joel Embiid. This super juicy rumor has some legs to it, now let’s see how real it is moving forward!
