We’re nearly a third of the way through the 2020-21 NBA season, and we’ve had some great performances from some of the league’s top players. We’re seeing many players step up to lead their teams. Playing under some unique circumstances this season, and are having to adapt. There are more back-to-back games, and players are playing teams in consecutive games. We’re going to rank some of the top players in the game, as we give our opinion on who the top six players in the game are at this point in the season. We’ve looked at their season stats, whether or not they’re a playoff contender, and their all-around game. That being said, let’s take a closer look at our analysis so you can keep betting against their NBA odds.
Updated 2021 NBA Players Rankings | Feb. 17 Edition
1. LeBron James
LeBron James is turning into the Tom Brady of the NBA. He just seems to get better with age. James is leading one of the top teams in the NBA, and he could be playing in another NBA Finals. James is playing over 34 minutes per game. He’s averaging 25 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists per game, while still playing very solid defense.
2. Giannis Antetokounmpo
Even though the Bucks aren’t playing as well as they did last season, Antetokounmpo is playing at an elite level once again. He’s added some new aspects to his game (with the exception of a perimeter jumper), and he’s putting up some great numbers. He’s averaging 28 points, 11 boards and nearly six assists per game. If he ever develops a consistent perimeter jumper, the sky’s the limit for the “Greek Freak”.
3. Nikola Jokic
The “Joker” is one of the top two big men in the game today. Jokic is arguably the best passing center in league history. He’s nearly averaging a triple double for a team that should make the Western Conference playoffs. He’s putting up nearly 27 points, 12 rebounds, and nine assists per game.
4. Kevin Durant
Durant has taken the lead in New Jersey. Although he’s missed some games due to COVID precautions and some minor injuries, Durant has returned to MVP form. Averaging 29 points, seven boards, and five assists, Durant could lead the Nets to an NBA Finals appearance.
5. Joel Embiid
Doc Rivers has the Sixers sitting at the top of the NBA Eastern Conference standings. Much of the credit should go to Embiid, as he’s playing the best he ever has. He is in great shape, and Rivers has centered the offense around Embiid. He can shoot it from the perimeter, and there are very few people that can defend him in the post. He is also an excellent defender.
6. Stephen Curry
When Klay Thompson went down, many thought that the Warriors season was over before it started. Curry took offense to that, and has taken over. Steve Kerr has made some offensive changes to help Curry, as he has the ball in his hands more than ever. He’s averaging nearly 30 points per game, while getting five boards, and dishing out five assists per game. Curry could very well lead the Warriors to a playoff appearance.
