NBA 2021 Players Power Rankings Betting Update May 12th

Written by on May 12, 2021

After a wild 4 ½ months, we’re finally down to the final week of the NBA regular season. With many playoff races yet to be determined, we should see some great action this week. Some of the game’s top players will need to step up their performances to help their teams get the best possible playoff spots. Let’s rank the top players in the game today so you can continue placing your bets against their NBA odds.

NBA Betting: Updated 2021 Players Power Rankings

1. Nikola Jokic

Jokic has helped the Denver Nuggets surge to the upper half of the Western Conference playoff standings. Jokic is also the leading league MVP candidate. He’s currently averaging 26 points, 11 rebounds, and 8 ½ assists per game. Jokic is one of the best passing big men of all time, and he’s also one of the best passers in the game today. Jokic has played in all 68 of Denver’s games. If he was a better defender, he would be the ultimate weapon.

2. Joel Embiid

If Embiid hadn’t missed 18 games, he more than likely would’ve been the leading MVP candidate. Embiid is the ultimate big man. He can score from the perimeter or on the inside with his wide array of post moves. Embiid is also an elite defender. Even without him for a period of time, the Sixers have risen to the top of the Eastern Conference standings. Embiid is also a very good foul shooter, which is huge for a post player.

3. Giannis Antetokounmpo

If Giannis could ever figure out his perimeter shooting, he would be one of the most unstoppable players ever. On the season, he’s averaging 28 points, six assists, and nearly 11 boards per game. He has the best offensive rating this season that he’s had throughout his career. With the changes that the Bucks coaching staff have made, the Bucks record hasn’t been as good as it was last year. Antetokounmpo has a better supporting cast and has deferred some to them.

4. Stephen Curry

Curry has been lights out over his last 19 games. He has averaged nearly 37 points per game while hitting nearly seven threes per contest. He doesn’t have much of a supporting cast, so he has had to take over at times. He has the Warriors in a playoff spot as of now. Throughout his run, he has put on quite a show. Some of his shooting nights have been some of the best the league has ever seen. He would be a strong contender for the MVP award if the Warriors were winning more games.

5. Luka Doncic

The Mavericks have come on strong in the second half of the season, and much of it is due to the play of Doncic. He’s averaging 28 points, eight rebounds, and nine assists per game. His shooting percentage has improved, and he has become more of a leader. He can do it all, and teams are having a hard time figuring out how to stop him. He is the poster child for the current state of point guards in the NBA.
