NBA 2021 Rumors & Betting News January 7th Edition

Written by on January 7, 2021

With the 2020-21 NBA regular season moving further into the 2021 calendar year, it’s time to take a look at the most recent rumors making their way around the league’s landscape. That said, let’s jump right into action so you can continue placing your bets against their NBA odds.

NBA Rumors Across the League’s Landscape

Toronto in Trade talks For Harden?

The Raptors are off to a dismal 1-5 start and suddenly, rumors are suggesting they could be in the mix to acquire all-star shooting guard James Harden. The rumored deal would reportedly start with all-star forward Pascal Siakam and include other players and future draft picks. Stay tuned NBA betting buffs. If Toronto’s slide continues, it could happen, although I don’t think Harden would be too happy playing north of the U.S.

Dubs Dealing Draymond?

While it’s a rumor that has no validity to it right now, rumors say the Golden State Warriors could be after Raptors all-star forward Pascal Siakam. Reports say it would cost the Dubs Draymond Green, Eric Paschall and a 2021 first round draft pick to get it done. Still, I don’t see it happening – at least – not just yet!

No Ballin’ in the Big Leagues

After failing to make any team’s NBA roster, LiAngelo Ball, the only one of the three Ball brothers not playing in the NBA, has signed with the NBA’s G League. The middle of the the three Ball brothers, played briefly for UCLA before heading off to Lithuania. He then suited up for the Los Angeles Ballers in the Junior Basketball Association in 2018. Just prior to the COVID-19 outbreak, Ball signed with the Oklahoma City Thunder affiliate, the Oklahoma City Blue!

Knicks Reach Out To Gibson

The New York Knicks may have declined to exercise their team option on veteran forward Taj Gibson, but recent reports say the surprisingly competitive Knicks are interested in bringing the heady veteran back into the fold. A handful of title contenders are also reportedly interested in acquiring Gibson.

Four New Positive Results

The NBA and NBPA announced on Thursday that four of the 498 players tested for COVID-19 since Dec. 30 have returned positive results.

Lillard Wants Draymond

Portland Trail Blazers superstar point guard Damian Lillard might be one of the best players on the face of the planet, but he has reportedly been trying to get his franchise to go after Golden State Warriors veteran Draymond Green. A five-time All-Defensive team member and 2017 Defensive Player of the Year, Green is reportedly going to be available before the annual trade deadline.

Oladipo Going Going…Gone?

After resisting reports that he wanted out of Indiana in the offseason, Pacers shooting guard Victor Oladipo would reportedly rather leave the team in free agency than sign an extension following the current campaign. This season, Oladipo is averaging 21 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game.

Going Back-to-Back

Mr. Load management, LA Clippers all-star forward Kawhi Leonard is reportedly set to play in more consecutive games this season that he has in the last few years. Leonard played in 35 minutes in Wednesday’s 108-101 victory over the Golden State Warriors  after his 30-point, 10-rebound, seven-assist masterpiece in Tuesday’s 116-113 loss to the San Antonio Spurs.
