6 NBA Betting Predictions We Can Make About Playoffs

Written by on March 28, 2017

We are just a couple of weeks away from the end of the regular season in the NBA, which means it’s time to start looking ahead to the playoffs. Sure, we don’t yet know what the opening round match-ups will be, but we already have a pretty solid idea. Even without that information to go on, we are quite sure that we can make a few predictions for the postseason. It’s going to be fun to see how many of these we get right, so feel free to play along and see if you can better our selections. Find the latest NBA betting odds here.

In Depth Analysis On The 6 NBA Betting Predictions We Can Make About Playoffs

1.  No opening round surprises

If the season were to end today, I don’t see any match-ups that would deliver a shock. The most likely would be the Atlanta Hawks taking out the Toronto Raptors, but a 5 beating a 4 is not really much of a shock. If I had to pick one potential opening round upset, it would be OKC versus the Houston Rockets, although I still don’t think it will happen.

2. Cleveland Cavaliers will not repeat

A team as talented as the Cavaliers will always have a shot at winning it all, but this group looks to be seriously flawed this season. They are on a slide at the worst possible time, and I’m not sure they can get it together in time to make a serious NBA Finals bid.

3. No Threepeat Finals Match-Up

It has been the Warriors and the Cavaliers in the last two NBA Finals, with each team winning it once. There are a lot of NBA fans who would like to see these two go head to head again in a Finals rubber match, but as seen from my prediction above, I am not sure that the Cavaliers can hold up their end of the bargain.

4. Washington Wizards Win the East

You can’t make postseason betting predictions without throwing a dark horse pick into the mix. It is the Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers who have been making all the headlines in the East this season, and that has allowed the Wizards to fly under the radar a little. This is a good team that could easily sneak up on the top two.

5. Same Old Story in the West

It was nice to see the Houston Rockets make a return to form this season, and they have a legitimate shot of making some noise in the playoffs. That said, I believe it will be the Warriors and Spurs who once again square off in the Western Conference Final. Who wins that one? Check out #6 on the list.

6. Warriors are Once Again NBA Champions

I think that if the Warriors had been at full strength last season, they would have had the repeat in the bag. Kevin Durant is out injured right now, but all signs point to him being health for the start of the playoffs. I don’t see anyone beating this group in a 7-game series.
