NBA All Star Slam Dunk Contest Free Pick
Odds to Win the 2016 Slam Dunk Contest
Having a terrific second season from the Minnesota Timberwolves is Zach Lavine. The former UCLA guard is scoring more than 12 points per game, and is the defending champion of this contest. We have seen Lavine elevate with the best of them in the league. The guy is not a great shooter, but boy can he get up. He is a great compliment to Andrew Wiggins and Karl Anthony Towns in Minnesota. It’s hard not to predict Zach Lavine, just ask Vegas. He is listed at 1/4 to win this contest. Will Barton is putting together the best season of his career, but far. Barton, in his third season out of Memphis. Barton is scoring nearly 16 points per game, and becoming quite a tough guard for the Denver Nuggets. Barton is playing 28.5 minutes per game, which is giving him great opportunities. He has been a bit hit or miss, but the 6’6 small forward can really fly. He is a great asset to this contest, and the best threat to Zach Lavine. He is listed at 7/2 according to Las Vegas. Aaron Gordon of the Orlando Magic is a guy that I love to watch play basketball. His stats are not quite where they should be yet, but the first round pick out of Arizona is crazy athletic. The 6’9 forward or the Magic is scoring 7.7 points per game, and grabbing more than 6 rebounds per game. Gordon needs more playing time, averaging just under 22 minutes per game. In his most recent game against the Spurs, Gordon ripped down 14 rebounds in a tough loss to the Spurs. He has had double figure rebound games in his last three overall. Gordon is a great addition to this contest, and listed at 5/1. The final member of the dunk contest is the worst free throw shooter in the game of basketball. Good thing that has no correlation on the dunk contest. This monster can really hammer the basketball down. The tallest member of the dunk contest, and comes into the event listed at 9/1, which is the biggest underdog of them all. The Detroit Pistons love his presence in the middle of the lane, and he is a layup and dunking machine. Look for him to be hyped for his first ever dunk contest.
