NBA Betting Underdogs That Are Still Profitable in 2019

Written by on March 25, 2019

While the 2018-19 NBA regular season is steamrolling to a fast and furious finish and a bunch of teams are either going to get left out of the NBA playoffs or become one-and-done postseason participants, many of these NBA underdogs are offering some outstanding value over the course of the coming week. If you’ve been keeping your eyes on just the playoff participants and those elite title contenders that have the best chances of winning it all, I’m going to identify several ‘underdog’ teams that all look like they are offering big 2019 NBA Championship odds right now.

NBA Betting Underdogs That Are Still Profitable in 2019

LA Clippers

  • 2019 NBA Championship Odds: +15000

The LA Clippers (44-30) have won nine of their last 10 games while ripping off five straight wins heading into the new week, L.A. has covered the chalk in six of their last 10 and they are definitely playing with some gusto right now, thanks mostly to the contributions of Lou Williams and Montrezl Harrell. The Clippers have beaten the Celtics, Thunder, Nets and Pacers over their last 10 games.

San Antonio

  • 2019 NBA Championship Odds: +8000

The San Antonio Spurs (43-31) have won eight of their last 10 games while going 7-2-1 ATS during the span. San Antonio has taken out Boston, Golden State, Milwaukee and Denver and they look super-dangerous right bout now despite their status as an ‘underdog’ in the Western Conference.

Miami

  • 2019 NBA Championship Odds: +50000

The Miami Heat (36-37) has won four of their last five games and seven of their last 10 games overall while beating the Thunder and Spurs along the way. The Heat have gone a blistering 7-3 ATS during the span and rank third in points allowed (105.9 ppg).

Brooklyn

  • 2019 NBA Championship Odds: +15000

The blossoming Brooklyn Nets (38-36) have won six of their last 10 games and two straight over the Kings and Lakers heading into the new week. More importantly, I bet the Lakers would give anything to have D’Angelo Russell back on their roster for brick-laying bust Lonzo Ball.

Charlotte

  • 2019 NBA Championship Odds: +50000

The Charlotte Hornets (34-39) have gone 6-4 over their last 10 games and they’ve strung together three straight wins while completely stunning Boston and Toronto in their last two contests. Charlotte is 4-2 ATS over their last six and Kemba Walker is a straight-up nightmare to guard. The Hornets will have a lot to play for over the course of the remainder of the regular season as they sit two games out of eighth place in the East.

Orlando

  • 2019 NBA Championship Odds: +50000

The Orlando Magic (35-38) have won six of their last 10 games as they try to nail down a playoff spot. The Magic are sitting one game behind Miami for the last berth in the Eastern Conference playoff chase, but they’ve ripped off four straight wins heading into the new week, although none were over likely playoff participants. The Magic are 3-1 ATS over their last four, but they also went 1-5 ATS over their previous six, so I say, use some caution if you’re planning on backing Orlando.

Atlanta

  • 2019 NBA Championship Odds: +50000

The Atlanta Hawks (26-48) have managed to win just four of their last 10 games, but they also hit the new week riding a two-game winning streak after stunning Utah on Thursday and Philly on Saturday.  Sweet-shooting point guard Trae Young is putting on his best Steph Curry imitation and now looks like a player that is super worthy of his high draft pick status and trade for Luka Doncic. Young has gone off for at least 21 points in eight of his last 10 games while putting 32 on the board against the Sixers and recording double digits in assists in each of his last three games. Best of all, the Hawks are covering the chalk like crazy, having gone 7-3 ATS over their last 10 games to become one of, if not the best, underdog on the board heading into the final two weeks of the regular season.
