Why Bet on LA Clippers? | NBA Betting Lines
The home team had been 0-6 in the Mavericks-Clippers first-round playoff series, but Los Angeles took Game 7 at home on Sunday, 126-111. The Clippers are the fifth team in playoff history to win a series after losing the first two games at home. They were just 3-5 all-time in Game 7’s entering Sunday, dropping their previous three by an average of 13.7 points per game.
Kawhi Leonard was spectacular with 28 points, 10 rebounds, nine assists, four steals, one block and no turnovers. to advance to the West semifinals vs. Utah. He was just an assist shy of his first career playoff triple-double. Leonard was a steady presence throughout the series, scoring at least 20 points in all seven games and notching three games with at least 35 points.
He became the fourth player in NBA history to score 200 or more points on at least 60% shooting from the field in a playoff series. Kawhi also was the Clippers’ most effective defender on Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic, holding him to 0.80 points per play as his primary defender in the series.
Paul George had 22 points, 10 assists and six rebounds. George’s 10 assists were his most in any game since March 20, and his 10 made free throws tied a season high. Over the seven games, George finished with four double-doubles — his most in any seven-game span this season.
Marcus Morris tied his career-high (regular season and playoffs) with seven made 3-pointers on his way to 23 points, five rebounds and two assists. Morris needed a bounce-back game as he shot just 1-of-10 from the floor in Game 6. He caught fire in third quarter and played a huge role in the 24-4 run in that frame that ultimately pushed the Clips to pull ahead and retain a comfortable lead.
In addition to Morris, the Clippers also got 15 points from Reggie Jackson, 13 points from Terance Mann and 11 points from Luke Kennard. With Mann and Kennard leading the way, the Clippers’ bench outscored the Mavericks’ reserve unit 27-6.
Why Bet on Utah? | NBA Betting Lines
The Jazz were 1-2 against the Clippers in the regular season. Two games were decided by five points or less. The Jazz won the other in an 18-point blowout while the Clippers were without Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, Nicolas Batum and Luke Kennard, while the Jazz were without Mike Conley.Utah has been off since eliminating Memphis in Game 5, 126-110 on June 2. The biggest obstacle the top-seeded Jazz had to clear in the first round was getting All-Star Donovan Mitchell back on the floor after he missed the final five weeks of the regular season with a sprained right ankle. Mitchell missed Game 1 and the Jazz lost. But from then on, he averaged 28.5 points and 5.8 assists as the Jazz swept the games he played.
Scoring 30 points and handing out 10 assists in Utah’s clinching win, Mitchell became the third Jazz player to ever score 30 points and log 10 assists in a playoff game, joining Deron Williams and John Stockton (two times), also becoming the youngest Utah player to post that line. It marked his 11th 30-plus point playoff outing in 27 games, passing Adrian Dantley for the second most 30-point contests in team history. Karl Malone leads with 53.
Bojan Bogdanovic, who missed the 2020 postseason with a wrist injury, averaged 18.4 points on 49/43/91 splits against Memphis. As a team, the Jazz shot 40.6% on 41.4 3-point attempts per game in the first round, even better than their record-setting regular-season production from distance.
Through five playoff games, Jazz center Rudy Gobert is averaging 17.4 points on 77.8 from the field, 13.0 rebounds and 3.2 blocks in 32.4 minutes per contest. He’s currently the first player since Dwight Howard in 2007-08 to average at least 17 points, 13 rebounds and three blocks during the playoffs.
Conley was phenomenal against his former Grizzlies team, averaging 17.6 points and 8.6 assists per game while shooting 54.8% from 3-point range. However, he suffered a mild hamstring strain in Game 5 and is in question. Conley missed nine games late in the season due to tightness in that hamstring. He participated in “portions” of Monday’s practice.
