2020 NBA Championship Odds

Lakers close out Nuggets

Los Angeles lost the first game versus the Blazers. Then, they went on a 4-game winning streak, covering in 3 of the 4 victories. Against the Houston Rockets, it was more of the same. The Lakers lost the first game only to dominate in the other four.

Surprising Western Conference Finals opponent Denver didn’t win until the third game. The Lakers shut the door on the Nuggets with wins in Game 4 and Game 5. How did Los Angeles so thoroughly dominate their opponents to win the west?

LAL leaned on their two all-stars, Anthony Davis and LeBron James. In the 114-108 Game 4 win versus Denver, Davis produced 34 points, 5 boards, 3 assists, and 3 steals. LeBron had 26 points, 9 boards, and 8 assists.

In the deciding Game 5, a 117-107 win versus Denver, The King dropped 38, grabbed 16 boards, and dished 10 assists. He dominated every Nuggets player on the court and showed why he’s the closest thing to Air Jordan the NBA’s ever seen.

Davis had a great game with 27 points, 5 boards, 3 assists, 2 steals and a block. If the Lakers win the NBA Championship, it will be because LeBron James and Anthony Davis dominate the Heat just like they dominated the Rockets, Nuggets, and Blazers.

Heat close out Celtics

The Miami Heat didn’t destroy their Eastern Conference Finals opponent the way the Los Angeles Lakers did. But Miami didn’t go into the conference finals a favorite. In fact, after sweeping the Indiana Pacers in the first round, Miami had to battle the overall favorite to win the title, the Giannis Antetokounmpo led Milwaukee Bucks

Giannis won his second straight league MVP this season. The Bucks were a massive favorite to beat the Heat. Miami had other ideas, though. Led by Jimmy Butler, the Heat upset Milwaukee 4 games to 1. The Bucks’ lone win, Game 4, happened in overtime.

Miami went on to face the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals. Boston and Miami have similar styles. Both play excellent defense and a team game on offense. It took the Heat six contests to beat the Celtics.

They won the series by leaning on a different player in almost every game. Goran Dragic led the way in Game 1 with 29 points. Bam Adebayo scored 21 and had 10 boards in the Game 2 win. Rookie Tyler Herro was sensational in Game 4. He dropped 37 points, grabbed 6 boards, and had 3 assists. Adebayo paced the Heat again in Game 6. He scored 32, grabbed 14 rebounds, and dished 5 assists.

On Wednesday, the Miami Heat begin their quest for the NBA Championship. To win it, they must find a way to contain both Anthony Davis and LeBron James.

Lakers an underlay favorite to win the 2020 NBA Championship

The Heat played their way to the NBA Finals. Don’t be fooled into thinking Miami can’t hang with the Los Angeles Lakers.

With Bam Adebayo, Goran Dragic, Tyler Herro and Jimmy Butler, Miami essentially has four players that can provide assists, score from anywhere on the court, and grab rebounds. Almost as important? Miami can play different styles depending on what Laker coach Frank Vogel throws at them.

Heat coach Erik Spoelstra makes the Lakers are underlay favorites at -370. Spoelstra sets up defensive and offense plays depending on the opponent. Spoelstra coached Miami differently against the Pacers, Bucks, and Celtics.

He’ll have a different game plan for the Lakers. Showtime will have the two best players on the court. They’re scary good, but the odds require value bettors consider backing the Heat to win the NBA Finals.

Have a great rest of your week!
