The Los Angeles Clippers open a three-game road trip through the Eastern Conference on Tuesday night against the disappointing Indiana Pacers. The Clippers will be favored on the NBA odds, but by how much depends on a few injuries.

On Jan. 17, the Clippers blew out the visiting Pacers 129-96. The Clippers made 19 of 39 from long-range, outdueling the Pacers, who were 11 of 38. Indiana closed within two points early in the third before the Clippers put the game away. They outscored the Pacers 37-14 the rest of the quarter. Paul George had 20 points and Kawhi Leonard had 17 points, seven rebounds and five assists for the Clippers. Doug McDermott led the Pacers with 23 points, making five 3-pointers. Domantas Sabonis added 19 points and 14 rebounds.

The Pacers have lost their last three games against the Clippers after winning five straight in the series from 2016-19. L.A. is looking to sweep the regular season series over the Pacers for the first time since the 2014-15 regular season.

Los Angeles won its fifth in a row Sunday, 131-124 over Detroit. Marcus Morris erupted for a season-high 33 points on 13-of-18 shooting Sunday, to go with six rebounds. Morris had been held to single digits in the scoring department in his previous three outings. He got a lot more shots with Kawhi Leonard given the night off – Kawhi should play here.

Paul George had his third straight 30-plus-point performance on Sunday, tallying 32 points along with nine assists.  “I just got into a good groove, rhythm, physical, mental space. I know what I need to do,” said George after the game. “I’ve been locked in and focused … I’ve just been at peace, I’m loving and enjoying the game. And the team is coming together.”

Ivica Zubac closed with 13 points 10 rebounds, seven assists and one block in 35 minutes. Serge Ibaka (back) has been ruled out for at least the next three games so Zubac should continue to put up numbers.

The Clippers are 21-1 this season when scoring at least 120 points and 9-0 when holding their opponent to less than 100 points. LAC is tied for first in the NBA in most 20+ point wins (11). The Clippers lead the NBA in most games shooting at least 50% from beyond the arc (13) and are 20-2 when they make at least 16 three-pointers.

L.A. has the fifth-best record in the league and lead the NBA in 3P% (.421), FT% (.839) and offensive rating (117.7), rank third in plus/minus differential (6.8) and fourth in FG% (.486).

The Pacers won their third in a row Sunday, 132-125 at Memphis in an upset. Malcolm Brogdon had a huge game with 29 points (10-of-21 FG, 4-of-6 FT), 11 assists, nine rebounds, five triples and one steal over 39 minutes. He didn’t have a single turnover.

Domantas Sabonis scored 18 points to go along with 15 rebounds, nine assists and one steal across 30 minutes. He reeled in 15 rebounds for the second consecutive game and has recorded double-digit boards in seven straight games. Sabonis narrowly missed out on his seventh triple-double of the season.

Caris LeVert had 34 points and five rebounds. LeVert was held to just 11 points on 4-of-12 shooting his last time out, but he surpassed that points total within his first 10 minutes of play on Sunday, and he finished 14-of-20 from the field and 4-of-4 from the stripe.

Head coach Nate Bjorkgren praised LeVert for how he pushed the pace after the game, and LeVert spoke to that as well, saying, “We’re not giving the defense a chance to set up and pack the paint.”

The Pacers’ bench has combined to score 58 or more points in each of their last three victories. Indiana is 4-0 this season when the bench scores 50+ points.  Indiana is now 8-0 when it scores 125 or more points and 15-3 when it scores more than 115 points.

Center Myles Turner, a Defensive Player of the Year candidate, missed his third straight game with a left ankle sprain and is questionable here. Turner has recorded at least one blocked shot in 64 consecutive appearances (dating back to Feb. 12, 2020). He became only the 21st player in NBA history to record a block in at least 60 games, and his streak is the longest since Atlanta’s Josh Smith recorded a block in 76 straight games from Dec. 2006 to Dec. 2007.
