We are only about a week away from the start of the NBA season, so I am sure that most of you are already thinking about how you are going to wager on the upcoming games.
Most of you will probably already have a strategy in mind that you will stick to from start to finish.
My NBA live betting Analysis
That said, there are probably plenty more of you who will take a scattershot approach to the season and try some different things along the way.
As long as what you are doing helps build your bankroll, there is no right or wrong way to do things.
That said, it’s always fun to try something a little new, which is why we are going to quickly talk about NBA live betting in this piece.
A lot of players will get their bets on for their chosen games on any given night, waiting to see how things play out, and cursing when things start going in the opposite direction of the wager on your ticket.
With in-game betting NBA style, you can wager on the games as they happen, taking advantage of several different things as they develop within each game.
With that in mind, let’s take a look at some of the things you can do with NBA live betting, while also giving out some tips.
^What Can You Wager On?
With in-game betting in the NBA, there are plenty of different things that you can focus on. The most popular wagers are individual player props, usually for points and assists, as well as for things happening within the game.
We are talking about things like totals for each quarter, each half, and a host of other things.
One thing to keep in mind with in-game live betting is that the odds change quickly, so you need to be on the ball and watch for the odds to shift in your favor before pulling the trigger.
^Basic NBA Live Betting Tips
Most of you will probably develop your own strategies over time when you switch to in-game betting in the NBA.
There are, though, some very basic little tips that can help ensure you don’t get wiped out once you start betting, so let’s take a look at some of those live betting tips.
Play one game at a time
While it is certainly possible to play several live games at any given time, there is a good chance that you might miss an important odds change that will end up costing you money. My advice here is to wager on games that you are actually watching in real time. You can get a better feel for how things are going and can make more informed wagers when you are up-to-date with what is going down in a game.
Wait for breaks in the action
Things tend to move quickly in NBA games, with the score changing quickly. You might be ready to dial up a live bet that you really like, especially one that is based on a point total, only to find that a couple of 3-pointers have been drained in the time that it takes you to pull up and post a bet. Waiting until a commercial or a natural break in the play before placing any bets. It also gives you time to really think about the wager and decide if it’s a good one or not.
Pay Attention to Player Changes
We all know that even the best players on a team simply cannot play an entire game. If you are betting on the point total, and you see a player who has been hot getting swapped out, that might be the time to start thinking about the UNDER for what remains of the quarter. The same rules apply if a player is forced out of the game via injury. We should also say that paying attention to the injury report is important, as a player might try to play through a niggling injury, which could have an impact on their individual props. Give it some time and adjust accordingly.
Be Prepared to NOT Wager
If you are serious about sports betting, you probably already know that betting for the sake of it is never a good idea. Sure, it’s fun to have some action going at all times, but if you really don’t feel good about a particular matchup, skip it. This is the same story with NBA live betting, as the odds in a game may not go the way you want them to. Rather than try to force it, or worse yet, bet against what you thought was going to happen, sit it out and wait until you get the conditions that you want, and which gives you the best chance of winning.
Start Small
If you have never tried in-game betting in the NBA, it is probably going to take you a minute to find your feet and get up to speed. With that in mind, you should really only be playing a small portion of your betting budget on live wagers. If you start to win and quickly get in the groove, you can then adjust your bets accordingly, taking a bigger risk on the props you feel particularly good about.
Know When to Stop
Just as you set a wagering budget for any given night, you should also set a cut-off point. It’s natural to want to keep playing when you are on a winning streak, but there is always the possibility that your luck could turn, and you could end up getting cold. Set an amount you would like to win and stop when you hit that number. Building your bankroll is all about money management, which includes knowing when to quit when you are ahead.
