Los Angeles At Dallas Free Pick, Lines & TV Info
When you follow sports and wager on a regular basis, you tend to become a little obsessed with numbers and trends. This is a good way to be if you want to have any kind of success when wagering on NBA betting spreads, but perhaps not so good when you are the fan of a team currently fighting for its playoff life. In the grand scheme of things, being 3 games back does not seem like a huge hole to be in, but when you are down to the final 10 games of the season, that hole may as well be a mile deep.
That is where the Dallas Mavericks find themselves right now, and you have to feel that just a couple more losses will be the final nails in their coffin. They are just coming off a loss to the Golden State Warriors, and now have another tough on ahead of them when they welcome in the LA Clippers on Thursday night. Every game is now essentially a must win for the Dallas Mavericks.

Why bet on the LA Clippers
The Los Angeles Clippers (43-29) want the #4 seed in the Western Conference, and they are starting to turn up the heat on the Utah Jazz, the team that currently hold that spot. The Clippers have won 3-straight, and have narrowed the Utah lead to a half game. You might think that this game versus Dallas should be one that the Clippers should win easily, but the Mavericks have proven to be a tough opponent at times for LA. They have met twice this season and have split those games. Oddly enough, though, it has been the road team that has come away with the win in each of those games, which might just swing things in the favor of LA here. It certainly helps that the Clippers are 25-12 versus teams with a sub-.500 record.
Why bet on the Dallas Mavericks
Yes, the Dallas Mavericks (30-40) are still statistically alive in the Western Conference playoff race but they are a team very much on life support. Dallas are fighting to the bitter end, though, and have gone 6-4 in their last 10 games, which has helped keep them afloat. Despite being 10 games under .500 on the season the Mavericks have been surprisingly good on home court going 20-16 so far this season. Where they have had real issues, besides their lack of scoring, though, has been against teams with winning records, as they are just 10-22 against that bunch. They need to find a way to improve that record if they want to be playing in the postseason.
Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction
Both teams need to win this game for rather different reasons, which should make it fun to watch. I think this one will be nip and tuck throughout, but I believe the Clippers will pull away in the closing stages.
