The Boston Celtics enter Wednesday’s game with a chance to clinch the top seed in the Eastern Conference on the final day of the regular season. It also depends on what the Cleveland Cavaliers do on Wednesday. The Milwaukee Bucks, meanwhile, are in the playoffs but not sure of their seed or opponent yet. They will be NBA betting underdogs here.

Why Bet On Milwaukee?

The Bucks might not have anything to play for here and thus could rest some guys. The team got back rookie Malcolm Brogdon on Monday from a five-game injury absence, but the Bucks may not want to push it with him and his bad back. Brogdon is having a historic first season in the NBA. The second round draft pick out of Virginia is on pace to be in some exclusive company and ranks toward the top in most statistical categories among rookies this season. He is the only rookie this season to record a triple-double, and the first in the NBA to do so since Elfrid Payton (ORL) during the 2014-15 season. Giannis Antetokounmpo is currently ranking in the league’s top-20 in total points (1,822/15th), rebounds (689/14th), assists (424/20th), blocks (150/5th) and steals (131/T-7th). No player in NBA history has done this for an entire season. Antetokounmpo secured his 31st double-double of the season with 20 points and 10 boards (in addition to six assists, three steals and two blocks) vs. the Sixers on 4/8. Antetokounmpo tallied 33 double-doubles in his first three NBA seasons combined. Antetokounmpo is averaging career highs in points (23.1), rebounds (8.7), assists (5.4), blocks (1.9) and steals (1.7) per game while shooting a career-high 52.2 percent from the field and playing a career-high 35.5 minutes per game. Matthew Dellavedova is posting career-high averages in points (7.6), assists (4.7) and minutes (26.2) per game. Dellavedova has started a career-high 54 games this season. Tony Snell is averaging career highs in points (8.4), rebounds (3.1) and assists (1.2) while shooting career-high field goal (.451) and 3-point (.400) percentages. Snell has started a career-high 79 games this season. The season series between the Bucks and Celtics is currently split at 1-1. The Bucks defeated the Celtics in Boston on March 29, 103-100. Antetokounmpo scored a team-high 22 points with nine rebounds in the win, while Brogdon had 16 points and nine assists and hit the game-clinching shot with just four seconds remaining in the contest. Isaiah Thomas led all scorers with 32 points.

Why Bet On Boston?

Should Cleveland and Boston tie for the best record in the East, the Cavaliers would win the tiebreaker. Cleveland might not care about the No. 1 seed, but Boston surely does. So Boston should be playing every key player of note here. By finishing first, Boston would earn homecourt advantage throughout the Eastern Conference playoffs and set themselves up to avoid the dangerous Toronto Raptors in the second round. “Whatever seed we get, we get,” Coach Brad Stevens said. “That’ll be a result of an 82-game schedule, not the result of obviously one or two games. And it is what it is. … I’m literally not talking about [seeding] with the team at all. Nor am I losing one second of sleep over it.” The Celtics may not know their first-round opponent until the final night of the regular season concludes, but have already started to scout potential playoff opponents. Stevens said most of the coaches have begun to look ahead at possible foes. Height is just a number to Celtics point guard Isaiah Thomas, who will finish the regular season with the highest scoring average by a player under 6 feet in NBA history. He’s averaging 29.2 points. Thomas is the sixth Celtic ever to reach 2,000 points in a season. The Celtics beat the Bucks in Milwaukee 112-108 in OT on Jan. 28 behind 37 points from Thomas. Jae Crowder scored four of his 20 points on free throws in the final 28 seconds. Antetokounmpo led Milwaukee with 21 points.

Milwaukee at Boston Betting Prediction: Boston Celtics

This is hugely important to Boston and matters not at all to the Bucks. It shouldn’t be close.
