With the ninth week of action on tap for the coming week, it’s time to find out which games have the look of must-see TV and must-bet matchups. Let’s get started in the nation’s capitol so you can get all set to make your bets against their NBA odds.
NBA 2021 Week 9 Games to Must Bet On
Temperatures may be dropping all over the country as we move further into February, but the 2020-21 NBA regular season is heating up in a big way! Philadelphia is on top the the Eastern Conference and showing no signs of slowing down. Milwaukee and Brooklyn are hot on Philly’s heels, but Boston is struggling mightily.
In the Western Conference, Utah has been on fire for the better part of the last two months…hell, make that the entire season. The defending champion Lakers are red-hot and the Phoenix Suns are looking extremely dangerous.
Houston (11-15) at Washington (6-17)
- When: Monday, February 15 at 7:00 PM ET
- Where: Capital One Arena, Washington, DC
- TV: NBATV
This one is going to be must-see TV after John Wall and Russell Westbrook had a war of words when these two teams met on Jan. 26. The Rockets have dropped five straight including their embarrassing 121-99 road loss at New York on Saturday. Washington has split its last four and snapped a two-game slide by upsetting Boston 104-91 on Sunday. Houston has won three straight in this series, but the Rockets are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games. The Over is 4-1-1 in the last 6 meetings.
Philadelphia (18-9) at Utah (22-5)
- When: Monday, February 15 at 9:00 PM ET
- Where: Vivint Arena, Salt Lake City, UT
- TV: AT&T Sportsnet – RocNBC Sports Philadelphia
Philly (14-12-1 ATS) has dropped two straight road games by losing at Portland and most recently, Phoenix. The Sixers fell to the Suns 120-111 on Saturday. Philly has won five of the last six meetings in this series while going an unblemished 6-0 ATS in the last six meetings. Utah (20-7 ATS) has won seven straight and 18 of 19 overall including a 112-94 smackdown on Miami on Saturday. The Jazz are a near-perfect 11-1 ATS in their last 12 home games and 17-4 ATS in their last 21 games as a favorite.
Denver at Boston
- When: Tuesday, February 16 at 7:00 PM ET
- Where: TD Garden, Boston, MA
- TV: TNT, NBALP, NBCS Boston, Altitude
The Nuggets (15-11) have won three straight including an emphatic 122-105 win over the Lakers on Sunday night. Boston (13-13) has dropped two straight and four of five including a 104-91 smackdown loss against Washington on Sunday night. The C’s and Nuggets are both1-4 ATS over their last five games.
Utah (22-5) at LA Clippers (20-8)
- When: Wednesday, February 17 at 10:00 PM ET
- Where: Staples Center, Los Angeles, CA
- TV: Fox Sports Prime Tic, AT&T Sportsnet – Roc
As previously mentioned, the Jazz head into Monday night having won seven straight and 18 of 19. The Clippers have won two straight but are just 3-3 over their last six. Utah beat LA 106-100 at home on New Year’s Day. The Jazz have won two straight and eight of the last 10 meetings against the Clippers.
Brooklyn at LA Lakers
- When: Thursday, February 18 at 10:00 PM ET
- Where: Staples Center, Los Angeles, CA
- TV: TNT
Brooklyn (16-12) has won two straight after dropping their previous three games. The Nets got past Golden State 134-117 on Saturday. The Lakers (21-7) had their seven–game winning streak unceremoniously snapped it its humbling 122-105 home loss against Denver. Brooklyn has won three of the last four in this series. The Lakers are 1-4 ATS over their last four games and 3-7 ATS over their last 10.
Phoenix at New Orleans
- When: Friday, February 19 at 8:00 PM ET
- TV: Fox NBALP, Fox Sports New OrleaFox Sports Arizona
- Where: Smoothie King Center, New Orleans, LA
Phoenix (17-9) hits the new week on fire. The Suns have won five straight and eight of nine including wins over Boston, Milwaukee and Philadelphia over their last four games. New Orleans (11-15) has lot three straight, but managed to get past Phoenix 123-101 at home on Feb. 23. Phoenix is 3-1 ATS in the last four meetings.
Utah at LA Clippers
- When: Friday, February 19 at 10:00 PM ET
- Where: Staples Center, Los Angeles, CA
I know I already wrote about Wednesday night’s meeting between these two Western Conference title contenders, but I’m expecting the back end of this matchup of heavyweights to be just as compelling, if not more so.
Miami at LA Lakers
- When: Saturday, February 20 at 8:30 PM ET
- Where: Staples Center, Los Angeles, CA
- TV: ABC
Miami (11-15) had its four-game winning streak snapped in its 112-94 road loss at Utah on Saturday. The Heat are 3-2 ATS over their last five, but just 3-8 ATS over its last 11 games. The Lakers had won seven straight until falling to Denver on Sunday. LeBron and company are 3-7 ATS over their last 10 games.
