Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors will look to take care of business when they host Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets in an intriguing showdown on Tuesday night that could go a long way toward determining just which team gets home-court advantage throughout the Western Conference playoffs. With the two-time defending champion Dubs up one game on the blossoming Nuggets, let’s find out which team is offering the best value against their NBA betting odds when this game goes down live from Oracle Arena.

Nuggets vs Warriors NBA Spread, Expert Analysis & Game Info

Why Bet On Denver at +8?

The Nuggets will be highly motivated to get the win after dropping two of three and three of their last five games overall, including a 95-90 loss against Washington on Sunday. The Nuggets have struggled to score the ball recently while getting held to 90 points or less in each of their last three losses. Denver got a game-high 23 points from Nikola Jokic, but the all-star center was ejected late for arguing with referees and the Nuggets were held to just 28 points after the break.

“That second half was really awful,” Jokic said afterward. “We didn’t shoot well. For wide-open shots, we didn’t make those. We were kind of not in a rhythm.”

Denver ranks a fantastic sixth in points allowed (106.7 ppg), but the Nuggets are averaging just 94.6 points per game over their last half-dozen contests and 110.9 points per game for the season to rank a modest 19th in scoring.

“I don’t know,” Nuggets power forward Paul Millsap said about his team’s offensive struggles. “If we don’t figure it out going on this roadie, it’s going to be tough to win. It’s something we’ve got to look at, for sure, and try to nip it in the bud.”

Why Bet On Golden State at -8?

Golden State has won three of four and seven of their last 10 games including a statement-making 137-90 blowout over desperate Charlotte on Sunday. Now, the Dubs have plenty of motivation as they seek to deliver a message to their Western Conference rivals that all roads to the NBA Finals will have to go through Oakland.

“Nights like tonight show our full potential,” Curry told reporters after Sunday’s win. “It’s obviously starting to get real with the countdown being what it is. It’s a good feeling right now, so we have to keep it going.”

While no starter played more than 29 minutes, Curry scored a team-high 25 points while making five of eight from downtown. Klay Thompson added 24 points and Quinn Cook added 21 points off the bench.

“When we can keep everybody under 30 minutes, that’s a great night,” Kerr told reporters. “Especially when you are coming back from our little road trip last week, having yesterday off and you have to adjust to the time change and all that.”

The Warriors rank a stupendous second in scoring (117.7 ppg) and 16th in points allowed (111.5 ppg).

Expert Analysis and Prediction

While I’m expecting Denver to show up with a good effort in this contest, I’m thinking it won’t be nearly enough to get past a Golden State team that is going to be lying in wait for their conference rivals. The Warriors have won two straight by at least 17 points over the Nuggets after losing their first regular season meeting by a bucket. Not only that, but the Nuggets are just 1-4 ATS in their last five games while the Warriors have gone 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games vs. a team with a winning percentage above .600. The home team in this rivalry has gone 3-1-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings and Golden State is now in ‘playoff mode’ and that means everyone else will be getting the Dubs’ best effort from here on out.
