Betting on Portland vs Chicago NBA Match Up

Written by on February 26, 2016

We are at the stage of the season where the teams fighting for the final few spots in the playoffs cannot afford to go into any sort of extended losing streak. In the Eastern and Western Conferences, there are a pair of teams who are in that fight, but who have chosen now to decide to go on a positive run. The Portland Trail Blazers have come out of nowhere to put together a great stretch of games, while the Chicago Bulls are continuing to find a way to win despite having more than their fair share of major injuries to contend with. Both teams are beginning to make some noise in their respective conferences, which is why their match-up on Saturday night should be such a fun one to tune into. If you fancy having a little wager on this game, you can do so over the NBA betting spread page.

Why bet on the Portland Trail Blazers

I don’t think anyone saw this hot streak coming from the Portland Trail Blazers (30-28), but it’s one that has moved them a half game up on the Houston Rockets and into the #7 seed in the Western Conference. The Blazers will be more than a little disappointed at losing ground to Houston after losing 119-105 to them on Thursday night. The loss was all the more difficult to take when you consider that Portland looked to be in control for a major portion of the game. Despite that loss, the Trail Blazers are still a very good 8-2 in their last 10 games, and are in a much better position than they were a few short weeks ago. The Blazers are just 11-16 on the road this season, but they have won 2 of the last 3 games they played at the United Center. Portland are averaging 103.5 PPG, and are giving up 102.5 PPG.

Why bet on the Chicago Bulls

There were a lot of people, myself included, who believed that the Bulls (30-26) would sink under the weight of all the injuries they were carrying. It certainly looked as though that was going to be the case, as they went on a stretch that saw them win just 2 games in 10 opportunities. They turned things around with a surprise win in Toronto last weekend, and then followed that up with back to back wins over the Lakers and the Wizards. It’s a nice run that has given them a little bit of breathing room in the playoff picture. They are now 2 games up on the chasing pack, but now that another bad run of games could suck them right back down. The Bulls are averaging 101.9 PPG, and are giving up 102.3 PPG.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

The Bulls beat the Blazers in Portland earlier this season, but it’s fair to say that these two teams are in a different place now than they were back then. I think Portland are playing a little better than the Bulls at the moment, and I like them to get the win.
