Each year in the NBA, we generally see one conference look stronger than the other. This season, it is the Western Conference that looks to be the better of the two. Right now, there are only 4 teams in the East that can boast a winning record. That pales in comparison to the Western Conference, where all 8 teams currently in the playoff slots have winning records. What that means in the bigger picture is that trying to come up with potential Western Conference Finals matchups is a good deal tricker, as getting through this conference is going to be tough. A lot can change between now and the start of the postseason, but let’s look at 3 potential Conference Finals matchups that might make sense. With that in mind, let’s get right to it so you can plan your bets against their NBA Western Conference odds.

LA Lakers Vs LA Clippers
I don’t think I am wrong in suggesting that this might well be the matchup that the majority of fans would love to see in the Western Conference Final. I mean, how often do we get to see teams from the same city go head-to-head in a battle to make it to the Finals? That alone makes this matchup special, but it certainly also helps that these are two of the best teams in the conference, as well as in the league. Given that they both play in the Staples Center, there would be no real home court edge, and wit no travel required between games, both teams would be fresh and ready to go every single night. The LA teams are sitting #2 and #3 right now, so there is every chance that this meeting might actually happen.
Utah Jazz Vs Phoenix Suns
Let’s just imagine for a moment that the LA teams falter in the playoffs and fail to get to the Conference Final. If that were to happen, which teams might prove to be the ones that took them down? The Utah Jazz are definitely in the conversation, as they are currently the team sitting in the lead in the Western Conference standings, a game and a half up on the Lakers. They have lost just 5 games this season and are equally as good at home as they are on the road, which is always a very good sign. The Phoenix Suns are down in the #4 slot right now in the West, but they have been on an absolute tear of late. There is still a long way to go, but if they can maintain their current form, there is no reason why they can’t challenge for the Western title.
LA Lakers Vs Golden State Warriors
Okay, so I am well aware that this is a longshot of the highest order, but how cool would it be to see the Warriors return to the big time this season? They would need to improve their play on the road, where they have a losing record, as they are not likely to crack the top 4 unless they make a dramatic turnaround as the season progresses. This is a team, though, with enough pieces to cause some upsets and make some noise in the playoffs. Given the current standings, they would likely need to face the Lakers before the conference finals, but I still think it would be cool to see the former champs go against the current champions.
