NBA Game 3 Winning Favorites Cleveland At Indiana

Written by on April 19, 2017

There is a lot of pressure that every team needs to deal with in the NBA playoffs, but things become even more stressful when you go in as one of the favorites. Expectations tend to be through the roof, especially when you consider that the top seeds in each conference are generally head and shoulders above the rest in terms of quality. It’s fair to suggest that some of the pressure may actually have been removed from the Cleveland Cavaliers, mostly because many NBA fans have already written them off after they struggled so badly at the end of the regular season. To their credit, the Cavaliers have come out and silenced their critics through the first two games of their opening round series versus the Indiana Pacers, but the true test is likely to start in Game 3, as the Cavaliers are going on the road, which is not a place where they tend to do very well. If they can go full steam ahead and pick up the sweep, people may start taking notice again, but lose, and more folks may be jumping off the bandwagon. Find out more about the latest NBA betting picks here.

Why bet on the Cleveland Cavaliers

After finishing the regular season on a 4-game losing skid, the Cavaliers are sure to be pleased to have gotten back to winning ways by taking the opening two games of this series. If anyone thought that this was going to be a blowout, though, they had better think again. The Cavs needed a buzzer beater to win 109-108 in Game 1, and while the 117-111 win in Game 2 was a little more convincing, the nature of these wins should serve as a sign that they may not have it all their way in this series. The Cavs went 1-1 in Indianapolis during the regular season, and needed double OT to beat the Pacers in one their last meeting of the season. Cleveland finished the regular season a game under .500 away from home, and went 17-24 ATS in those games.

Why bet on the Indiana Pacers

Down two games, the Indiana Pacers have a Herculean task ahead of them in this series, but they can get right back in it with a win on home court. They have already beaten the Cavaliers there this season, and they can certainly take some heart from how well they played in the opening two games of the series. Indiana were a very respectable 29-12 in their own building this season, and it was that home dominance that got them into the playoffs as a #7 seed. ATS, the Pacers were among the best in the league in their own building, going 23-18 in the regular season.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

While there are some who are calling for the sweep in this series, I believe that the Pacers will win at least once in the next two games. Let’s make it a Thursday night win for Indiana.
