Top NBA Betting Picks of the Week – December 10th Edition

Written by on December 10, 2018

After another exciting week of NBA action, we have seen some normalcy restored to the standings, with the Golden State Warriors back on top in the Western Conference. It is still incredibly tight in that race, though, with just a half-game lead for the Dubs at the top. One of the favorites at the latest NBA Championship Odds, the Toronto Raptors, continue to lead the way in the Eastern Conference, but back to back losses to end the week has seen that lead shrink to 2 ½ games. There are some huge match-ups on tap for the coming week, so let’s take a quick look ahead at some of the better games.

Top NBA Betting Picks of the Week – December 10th Edition

New Orleans Pelicans at Boston Celtics – Monday

The Boston Celtics are off to a surprisingly slow start to the season, but if the last couple of weeks are anything to go by, they may well have turned the corner. Boston is coming into the new week on a 5-game winning streak, where they have looked totally dominant.

They are stills tuck down in the #5 spot, though, so they need to keep winning and heading in the right direction. They will start the week with a home tilt versus the 14-14 New Orleans Pelicans. The Celtics already beat them this season, but it is worth noting that they lost both meetings to the Pelicans last year. I am on Boston to keep the streak alive with a win.

Toronto Raptors at LA Clippers – Tuesday

This may well be the worst time for the Raptors to be on a bit of a losing skid, as they have a tough week ahead of them, starting with a visit to the Staples Center to face the LA Clippers.

Toronto has only dropped 7 games to this point in the season, so seeing them losing back to back outings is a little jarring. The Clippers are in the #3 spot in the West, thanks in large part to a 9-3 record at home, but they also ended last week with consecutive losses. The losing streak needs to end for one of these teams and I think it will be Toronto.

Toronto Raptors at Golden State Warriors – Wednesday

There is a good chance that things could really start getting away from the Raptors this week, especially if they come into this one having dropped their 3rd straight game the night previous. I do think the Raptors get that win in LA, but I also believe that they could head right back to losing territory in Oakland.

The Warriors look like a safe NBA Betting pick for this week.

After a bit of a rough patch, the Warriors seem to have got their mojo back, winning 3 games into a row to get back on top in the Western Conference. They are an impressive 11-2 at home, which is why I like Golden State to win a close one here.

LA Lakers at Houston Rockets – Thursday

The defending Western Conference champion Houston Rockets are in a spot of bother in the early going, sitting in the second to last spot in the conference, albeit just 6 games out of top spot. It is only the tightness of the West that is saving the Rockets at the moment, as they are doing very little to help their own cause.

They will welcome in LeBron and the Lakers on Thursday night, a team that is starting to slip into a higher gear, winning 7 of their last 10 games. It’s hard to bet against the Lakers right now, which is why I am on them to win this one.
