A Closer Look At The Top NBA ATS Picks For The Weekend Action (April 8th)
Boston at Charlotte
When: Saturday, April 8 at 6:00 PM ET Where: Spectrum Center, Charlotte, NC TV: CSNE, FSSE NBA Odds: Boston -2Analysis: The Boston Celtics (50-29 SU, 38-39-2 ATS) may have gotten completely embarrassed in their completely humbling 114-91 loss against Cleveland on Wednesday and their ensuing 123-116 loss to Atlanta the following night, but that’s what makes the desperate C’s a virtual lock to take down a Charlotte (36-43 SU, 35-41-3 ATS) team that has also lost two straight and three of their last six games overall.
Boston has gone 4-0 ATS in their last four road games against Charlotte and 7-1 ATS in the last 8 meetings overall. More importantly, the C’s are completely and utterly desperate to get a much-needed win! Boston wins by at least six to easily cover the spread.
Pick: Boston -2 Points
Milwaukee at Philadelphia
When: Saturday, April 8 at 6:00 PM ET Where: Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia, PA TV: FSWI, CSNP NBA Odds: Philadelphia +5Analysis: The Milwaukee Bucks (40-39 SU, 34-45 ATS) may be headed to the playoffs, but it is the ATS league-leading Philadelphia 76ers (28-51 SU, 48-31 ATS) that are my pick to cover the spread in this contest.
The Bucks have lost three straight while falling to Dallas, Oklahoma City and Indiana and that just doesn’t bode well against a Sixers team that has dropped five in a row, but has beaten the Bucks in two of the last three meetings. Milwaukee is 0-4 ATS in their last five games while Philly has gone 5-1 ATS in their last six games following an SU loss of more than 10 points. The 76ers cover the spread while pushing Milwaukee for the outright win!
Pick: Philadelphia +5.5 Points
Miami at Washington
When: Saturday, April 8 at 7:00 PM ET Where: Verizon Center, Washington, D.C. TV: SUN, CSMA NBA Odds: Miami +5.5Analysis: The Miami Heat (38-40 SU, 46-31 ATS) are completely desperate to get one of the final two sports in the Eastern Conference playoffs. The Washington Wizards (48-31 SU, 40-38 ATS) are also pretty desperate as they want to hit the postseason playing good basketball. While the Wiz have won two straight and Miami has lost two of its last three, I like the Heat to give the Wizards a tough way to go while finding a way to narrowly cover the spread.
Miami is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings against Washington and a bankroll-boosting 7-0 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning percentage above .600.
Pick: Miami +5.5 Points
