Toronto At Atlanta NBA Betting Odds, Pick & TV Info

Written by on March 9, 2017

It was widely assumed that the Cleveland Cavaliers, the reigning NBA champions, would be the team to beat in the Eastern Conference this season. While it has certainly played out that way, they are not leading the pack in a very convincing fashion. The East could be a whole lot closer if any of the teams looking to run down the Cavs could put together any sort of serious winning run. The fact that they have not been able to shows the parity in the league once you get past the 2 or 3 elite teams at the top. Two teams that are in not so hot pursuit of the Cavaliers will go head to head on Friday night, when the Toronto Raptors head south to pay a visit to the Atlanta Hawks. These are two good teams, but neither really seems like a legitimate threat to challenge for the Eastern Conference crown at least not yet. This should be a good game, though, and definitely one worth wagering on. So let’s take a look at the updated NBA betting odds here.

In Depth Analysis On The Toronto Raptors At Atlanta Hawks Betting Odds, Pick & TV Info

Why bet on the Toronto Raptors

The Toronto Raptors (38-26) are currently occupying the 4th seed in the Eastern Conference, 3 games ahead of the Hawks in the 5 spot. Rather than looking behind, the Raptors are focused on the teams ahead of them, as the gap there is starting to tighten up a little. Toronto have a legitimate shot at catching the Boston Celtics in second place, as it’s beginning to look as though the Atlantic Division is going to go right down to the wire. While the Raptors may be 2.5 games back, they are 12-2 in divisional games and are starting to put some wins together, going 6-4 in their last 10. Toronto has spilt the season series with Atlanta so far, with both of those games played in their own building.

Why bet on the Atlanta Hawks

The biggest problem for the Atlanta Hawks (25-29) this season has been a total lack of consistency. They have been picking up their wins and losses in streaks, seemingly unable to put any sort of consistent run together. Some of that may be down to a lack of cohesiveness in the locker room, as we saw a couple of players arguing on the court as Steph Curry scored in a game versus the Warriors a couple of nights back. The Hawks have been able to put a winning record together, albeit barely, at home, going 18-15 so far. On the downside, the Hawks have only been able to pick up 3 wins in their last 10 meetings with the Raptors.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

I have a feeling that this is going to be a close one, and while I usually defer to the home team in closer games, I actually think that this one is going to go the way of the visiting Raptors.
