Washington At Cleveland NBA Odds, Betting Pick & TV Info

Written by on March 24, 2017

Over the past few seasons, it is generally at this stage of the season where we know exactly who will have the #1 seed in each of the conferences in the NBA. That is most certainly not the case this season, particularly in the Eastern Conference, where it is beginning to look as though the race for the #1 seed is going to go right down to the wire. The defending champion Cleveland Cavaliers are not having it all their way this year, and it needs to be said that much of that is down to their own inability to put this thing away.

They have maintained a lead at the top since basically day one of the season, but their 1-game lead over the Celtics is about as tight as things have been at any stage of the season. Things are not about to get any easier for Cleveland, as they have an incredibly tough match-up scheduled for Saturday night, when they play host to the #3 ranked Washington Wizards. Could we see the lead at the top of the East change hands this weekend? Find out more about the updated NBA betting lines here.

Why bet on the Washington Wizards

Given the current state of affairs in the Southeast Division, where the Washington Wizards (43-28) have a 6-game lead over Atlanta, it’s fair to suggest that they have at least the #3 seed locked down. There is still the chance that they could move up, but that would require them to be about as close to perfect as possible in their remaining games. At 6-4 in their last 10, it doesn’t really look as though that is going to happen, especially since they have already failed to make a move by recently losing to the Boston Celtics. The Wizards have struggled on the road this season, and are 3 games below .500 at 15-18. They have also lost both previous meetings with the Cavaliers this year, so they are definitely up against it here.

Why bet on the Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cleveland Cavaliers (46-24) are not closing out the season in very good form, and are just 4-6 in their last 10 games. That said, there is not a lot of panic going on in Cleveland right now, as this is a team that seems more suited to the playoffs than the daily grind of the regular season. Where the Cavaliers have excelled this season is on home court, where they are 28-7. As if that were not impressive enough, the reason they have been able to maintain their lead at the top in the East is because of their 30-11 record versus conference foes.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

Yes, the Cavaliers have had their issues this season, and are not playing very good ball right now, but they are always tough to beat in their own building. I believe they will find a way to win this one, too.
