If the NBA season was a horse race, then we are turning for home and about to head down the stretch. The playoffs are now that far off in the distance and the battle for those coveted spots is only going to become more intense with each passing day. Given how things look at the moments, these battles are going to go all the way down to the wire, as it is pretty tight across the board. Sure, there are a handful of teams who look like legit championship contenders, but there are many more who could adopt a dark horse role, especially of they go on a late run and build up some momentum ahead of the postseason. For now, let’s look at the schedule for the next few days and pick out some NBA games that are worth betting on.
NBA Top Betting opportunities during the week | NBA Lines
Miami Heat at Philadelphia 76ers
When: Monday, Feb. 27
Where: Wells Fargo Center
Time: 7:00 PM ET
TV: NBA TV
In the grand scheme of things, Monday is a quiet night in the NBA, with just 4 games on the schedule. There is a good one with playoff implications, though, with Miami going on the road to face the Philadelphia 76ers. Miami are looking to pull themselves out of the play-in zone, but they are on a 4-game losing skid that has them 2 ½ games out of the #6 seed. There are no such issues for the 76ers, who are sitting in the #3 spot, 4 games off the lead. Philly is an impressive 24-9 in their own building and should be able to take advantage of a slumping Heat team.
Milwaukee Bucks at Brooklyn Nets
When: Tuesday, Feb. 28
Where: Barclays Center
Time: 7:30 PM ET
TV: NBA League Pass
We are sticking with the Eastern Conference for the Tuesday night game, with this one featuring a pair of teams heading in very different directions. The Bucks are about as hot as it gets at the moment, as they are currently on a 14-game win streak that has them just a half game out of the lead in the East. On the flipside, the Nets are just 3-7 in their last 10 games and a team trying to gel after making some huge moves at the trade deadline. I’m not so sure that will all come together in this one.
New Orleans Pelicans at Portland Trail Blazers
When: Wednesday, Mar. 1
Where: Moda Center
Time: 10:00 PM ET
TV: ESPN
This is not a matchup that really jumps off the page when looking through the schedule for the week, but it is one that is huge in terms of the postseason. As it stands at the moment, it is the Pelicans who are clinging to the final play-in spot in the Western Conference, but we have the Trail Blazers sitting just a half game back. The Pelicans are on the skid, losing 3 in a row ahead of the new week, while Portland closed their week out with a big win. Might we see these teams flip spots by the time the week is over?
LA Clippers at Golden State Warriors
When: Thursday, Mar. 2
Where: Chase Center
Time: 10:00 PM ET
TV: TNT
It’s another quiet night on Thursday, but we have a very solid looking matchup that once again has playoff implications. The Clippers are in the #5 seed at the moment, but they are not playing great ball, losing 2 in a row and going .500 over their last 10 games. The Warriors are moving up after winning 2 in a row and are looking to get into the top 6. They are just a game back of the Clippers in what is a very tight race in the West.
