Are the Duke Blue Devils worth backing at less than +200 odds?
Once odds adjust this week, the Blue Devils might be closer to +100, or even offer Golden State Warriors’ NBA odds than the their current +170. No team in college basketball has been as impressive as Duke because the Blue Devils have improved from game to game.
Sure, Syracuse upset them in mid-January and they lost by 2 to Gonzaga in November, but since the Orange loss, they’ve beaten every team they’ve faced, including taking down Virginia twice. Are they the team to beat, yes? They also offer fair odds, but like every team on this list, they’re only an injury away from the season going up in flames.
What under double-digit odds team has the best shot of upsetting Duke?
Duke romped all over the Kentucky Wildcats in the first game of the season. The Blue Devils dominated. But, Kentucky’s been about as good as any team in college basketball since around mid-January. The Wildcats are on a 8-0 game SU and ATS streak heading into their Tuesday night matchup with the LSU Tigers.
UK could be end up winning the SEC over Tennessee. They’ve gotten that good while we all know how Coach Cal can get his squads ready in time for March Madness.
Which team offering double-digit odds can take the title?
Gonzaga might offer less than double-digit odds once they adjust, but right now, they qualify at +1000. The Zags are storming through the West Coast Conference, dominating every overmatched squad they meet.
Mark Few’s team also had a tough early season schedule, which should set them up for the tournament. The real reason to like the Zags? They’ll get the 1-seed in the West and shouldn’t have had to work hard to do it. They should be the freshest 1-seed in the tourney.
Is there a massive odds team to keep an eye on?
LSU’s offering +9000 to +10000 odds to win the NCAA Tournament. The Tigers only have 4 losses on the season. They also might have the top point-guard in college basketball on their team in Tremont Waters. Guard play can take you awfully far in the NCAA Tournament. So, keep an eye on LSU heading into late February.
