In fairness to the Cowboys, this will be their third game in five against ranked opponents. While they may be on a losing skid right now, OK State have been competitive in all but one, and they even pushed #2 Baylor all the way to the limit in a 61-57 loss. Kansas will have looked at that game and seen it as a definite sign that they cannot go into this game thinking that they will simply win without much effort. The Oklahoma State Cowboys have a losing record on the road this season, but their record is not really a true indication of how they have been playing.

The Jayhawks opened their season with a loss to Indiana, but they have been perfect since then, taking their overall record to 15-1. Other than a win over Duke, which came in their second game of the season, the Jayhawks have not really had to face any major opposition. They appear to be going through the motions at times, and while they have started Big-12 conference play with a perfect 4-0 record, they have had a couple of close calls in those games, specifically against TCU and Kansas State, a pair of games that they won by a combined 8 points.
