Let’s get started with the updated college basketball betting lines.
Top College Basketball SU Picks For The Weekend Action (March 4th)
No. 12 Florida (24-6) at Vanderbilt (16-14)
When: Saturday, March 4 at 2:00 PM ETWhere: Memorial Gym, Nashville, Tennessee
TV: ESPN
Analysis:
Florida is pretty much on fire, having won nine of their last 10 games, including their 78-65 win over Arkansas on Wednesday. Vanderbilt has been playing solid basketball in winning four of five and seven of their last 10 games overall despite coming into this matchup off a hard-fought 73-67 loss against Kentucky on Sunday. For this matchup, I’m going to urge you to back the Florida Gators to get the outright win, though I certainly expect Vanderbilt to put up a big-time fight.
The Commodores have won three straight in this SEC rivalry and bet the Gators 68-66 in Gainesville on Jan. 21 to easily cover the spread as an 11.5-point road dog. While Vandy has gone 4-1 ATS in their last five home games, the Commodores have suffered five home losses this season while Florida has just three road losses. Florida gets the narrow road win in another thriller against Vanderbilt!
Pick: Florida 73 Vanderbilt 69
Seton Hall (19-10) at No. 15 Butler (23-6)
When: Saturday, March 4 at 2:30 PM ETWhere: Hinkle Fieldhouse, Indianapolis, Indiana
Analysis:
Seton Hall is completely desperate to reach the 20-win mark and the Pirates are playing good basketball, having won three straight games and six of their last eight overall. Unfortunately for Seton Hall, No. 15 Butler is also playing solid basketball right now having won four straight games and five of their last six games overall, including a huge, 74-66 victory over No. 2 Villanova along the way.
Seton Hall is just 3-6 on the road this season and will fall to a Butler ballclub looking to improve its March Madness seeding.
Pick: Butler 77 Seton Hall 71
No. 11 Baylor (24-6) at Texas (10-20)
When: Saturday, March 4 at 4:00 PM ETWhere: Frank Erwin Special Events Center, Austin, Texas
TV: ESPN
Analysis:
The 11th-ranked Baylor Bears have largely struggled in dropping three of their last five games and five of their last 10 games overall. Nevertheless, you can fully expect the NCAA tournament-bound Bears to lay an emphatic smackdown on a Texas Longhorns team that has lost six straight games and eight of its last 10 games overall.
Baylor has won three straight over their in-state Big 12 rivals and they are the better statistical team at both ends of the floor, not to mention the fact that the Longhorns have lost two straight at home.
The Bears have plenty to play for as they look to regain some momentum prior to the national championship tournament and it starts with a big win over the reeling Longhorns. Baylor beat Texas 74-64 at home on Jan. 17 and they’ll get another double-digit win against the Horns despite being on the road this time.
Pick: Baylor 75 Texas 65
