College Basketball Predictions – Gonzaga at Portland

- NCAAB Odds: TBD
Why Bet On No. 1 Gonzaga
The top-ranked Bulldogs remained unbeaten by recording a commanding 86-69 win over BYU on Thursday night. While Corey Kispert scored a team-high 23 points in the win it was five-star freshman guard Jalen Suggs that fueled Gonzaga’s latest effort by posting16 points, five rebounds, five assists, four steals and a blocked shot in the win.
“He has so many gifts and one of his greatest gifts is his vision,” coach Mark Few said of his stud point guard. “You have to be very confident to be able to execute passes like that.”
Up 5239 at the break, Gonzaga cruised to victory in the second half. Gonzaga was supposed to play Santa Clara on Thursday and BYU was scheduled to play Pacific. But both those teams had to drop out because of COVID-19 protocols, so Gonzaga and BYU decided to play each other a month early. No matter their circumstances, the Bulldogs keep answering the bell.
“On the defensive end we played 30 minutes of really, really solid basketball,” Few said. “They’re a good offensive team. … We ball-hawked really well and swarmed to the ball really well.”
The Bulldogs have gone 5-0 away from hoe this season.

Expert Analysis and Prediction
Gonzaga has gone 2-0-1 ATS over its last three games and 3-1-1 ATS over its last five games overall. Portland has gone 0-2 ATS over its last two games and 1-3 ATS over its last four games overall. The Bulldogs have won each of the last 10 meetings, but are just 3-7 ATS during the span, mostly because they’ve been a double-digit favorite in every contest. Gonzaga cruised to a 85-72 road win the last time these two conference rivals met in a year ago, but failed to cover the spread as a 23.5-point road favorite. ‘m going with Gonzaga to get the win, but I’m going with the Pilots to cover the spread as a 20-point plus home dog!
Pick: Gonzaga 85 Portland 70
