Last Season
The Boilers won both meetings in 2017-18. The first, in College Park, was an 80-75 victory. Isaac Haas scored 21 points, and Dakota Mathias added 20. The Boilermakers squandered a 14-point advantage, then let a 10-point cushion shrink to 62-60 before Mathias and the 7-foot-2 Haas took over. Carsen Edwards scored 18 for the Boilermakers, who got all their points from the five starters. The Terrapins shot 35 percent. In West Lafayette, Purdue won 75-67. Haas had 22 points and nine rebounds. He’s no longer a college player. While Haas went 8 of 14 from the field, Edwards scored 17 points on a night the Boilermakers led from wire to wire. Edwards is still at Purdue and the Big Ten Player of the Year favorite and a likely All-American. The Terrapins missed their first six shots, immediately fell into a 9-0 deficit and spent the rest of the game futilely playing catch-up. Purdue owns a 4-2 edge in the all-time series between the two schools, which began when Maryland Terrapins joined the Big Ten in 2014-15. Three of the past four meetings between the Terps and Boilermakers have been decided by five points or less.2018 Team Records

Why Bet on Maryland?
The Terps (7-1) opened Big Ten play Saturday with a 66-59 win over Penn State. Freshman Jalen Smith scored 16 points, and Bruno Fernando had 12 points and 13 rebounds. Anthony Cowan Jr. chipped in with 15 points, including two clutch 3s in the closing minutes. The last of those long-range jumpers, hoisted as the shot-clock expired, made it 64-59 with 34 seconds left. Fernando and Smith were dominant in the paint, Maryland finished with a 40-28 rebounding advantage and outscored the Nittany Lions 18-4 at the foul line. Fernando is currently averaging a double-double (15.4 points, 10.0 rebounds) for the season, and has posted three straight double-doubles for the Terps. Fernando became the first Terrapin to post double-doubles in three consecutive games since Jordan Williams had a streak of three from February 23 to March 2, 2011, against Florida State, North Carolina & Miami. Fernando’s four double-doubles have already surpassed his total from last season (3) and rank third-highest in the Big Ten. Maryland’s rebounding margin of 14.4 easily leads all Big Ten Conference teams, and the Terrapins lead in both offensive and defensive rebounding percentage. Cowan Jr. now sits just 25 points shy of 1000 for his Maryland career. He has averaged 13.4 points per game as a Terrapin and is again leading his team in scoring this year (16.4/g).Why Bet on Purdue?
The Boilers have lost three of four but to ranked Virginia Tech, Florida State and Michigan and none were at home. It was 76-57 at No. 7 Michigan on Saturday in the Big Ten opener. Carsen Edwards and Ryan Cline combined for 34 points but were the only Purdue players in double figures. The Boilermakers shot just 35.5 percent against the nation’s top-rated defense while going 9 of 24 from 3-point range. Purdue started slow, falling behind 13-4 at the first media timeout as Michigan made five of its first six shots. Purdue crawled to within 21-16, but Michigan then embarked on a 10-0 run to grab a 31-16 lead with 10:23 remaining in the half. Purdue would trail 44-28 at halftime. Purdue has struggled offensively the last two games, shooting just 38.9 percent from the field and averaging 64.5 points. It has, however, come against defenses ranked in the top 13 (Michigan – 1; Florida State – 13). Edwards and Cline combine to average 39.6 points per game, making the duo the third-highest major-college scoring duo in America (Duke, Gonzaga). Purdue is looking to avoid a 0-2 Big Ten start for the first time since the 2013-14 season (Ohio State, Minnesota). One benefit to Purdue is that the Terps do not shoot the three well. Eric Ayala and Aaron Wiggins are over 40% from long range, but as a team, they are barely above 31%. Anthony Cowan leads the team in attempts with 42, but is shooting only 28.6% from long range. Maryland averages 80.8 points per game on offense and Purdue averages 80.1. The Terps give up 66.4 per game and Purdue gives up 68.Maryland at Purdue NCAA Basketball Betting Trends
