The seventh-seeded Michigan Wolverines have gone from a 98-pound weakling of a bubble ballclub to a muscle-bound national championship title contender that is playing as well as any team in the country right now. The third-seeded Oregon Ducks have been ranked inside the national top 10 virtually all season long, but now, they’re surprising underdogs to get past Michigan in their Sweet 16 matchup on Thursday. Can Michigan continue their captivating March Madness run or will the Ducks stop the Wolverines dead in their tracks? Let’s find out more about the updated NCAA basketball spreads.

Here’s A Closer Look At The Michigan Wolverines Vs Oregon Ducks Spread, Betting Pick & TV Info

When: Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 7:09 PM ET Where: Sprint Center, Kansas City, Missouri TV: CBS Live Stream: CBS Sports Network NCAAB Odds: Michigan -1.5 / Total: 146.5

Why Bet The Oregon Ducks Odds at +1.5

There’s plenty of good reasons to bet on Oregon in this contest like the fact that the Ducks have been consistent in winning two straight – and nine of their last 10 games. The Ducks pounded Iona in their opener but struggled against Rhode Island while narrowly winning 75-72 and failing to cover the spread as a 4.5-point favorite. Oregon overcame a 46-38 half-time deficit as Tyler Dorsey scored a game-high 27 points and Dillon Brooks chipped in 19 points and seven boards.

Why Bet The Michigan Wolverines Odds at -1.5

There are plenty of good reasons to back Michigan in this contest, starting with the fact that they’re on fire, having won seven straight games and nine of their last 10 games overall. The Wolverines got past Oklahoma State in a thriller in their opener and manhandled Louisville en route to a 73-69 win in their second round matchup on Sunday. Despite being three point underdogs, the Wolverines overcame an eight point half-time deficit by outscoring the Cardinals 45-33 run over the final 20 minutes. Moritz Wagner scored a team-high 26 points on 11-14 shooting from the field while D.J. Wilson added 17 points in the win.

Expert Pick & Final Score Prediction

I don’t know what has gotten into Michigan lately, but I believe the Wolverines suddenly have a date with destiny that Oregon just won’t deny. I know the Ducks are the statistically better team at both ends of the floor and that they have two likely future NBA performers in Tyler Dorsey and Dillon Brooks, but Michigan’s confidence is sky-high right now and they truly believe and have played like they can beat anyone. Michigan is the better shooting team and turns the ball over less than Oregon, but it is their decisive advantage at the free throw line that I believe will be the difference in this contest. Oregon has gone 5-1 ATS as an underdog in their last five NCAA Tournament games and 9-4 ATS in their last 13 NCAA Tournament games overall, but Michigan is 9-3-1 ATS in their last 13 neutral site games as a favorite, 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games and 5-1 ATS in their last six games against a team with a winning record. I have to admit that, while Oregon is the more ‘logical’ the NCAA Tournament certainly isn’t always about logic. Michigan is playing like a legitimate title contender and I expect that to continue as they stun the Ducks to keep their March Madness run going.

My final score prediction is Michigan 77 Oregon 75
