North Carolina vs Boston College Expert Pick

Written by on February 8, 2016

There is nothing quite like the schedule maker being kind to you when you are running through a bit of a rough patch in the season. The North Carolina Tar Heels are probably very happy with the schedule maker this week, as they have the chance to get their season back on track with a game against a vastly inferior Boston College Eagles on Tuesday, February 9. North Carolina vs Boston College NCAAB Odds and Game Info

When: 8:00 PM ET, February 9, 2016 Where: Silvio Conte Forum, Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts TV: ESPN3 If the last meeting between these two teams showed us anything, it’s that we probably shouldn’t expect an upset special in this one. The chances of the Eagles coming away with the win in this one are somewhere between slim and none, but the question will be whether or not they will be able to cover what is sure to be a sizeable spread.

Why Bet on the North Carolina Tar Heels

The Tar Heels (19-4, 8-2) will be looking to bounce back in a big way after losing back to back games to Louisville and Notre Dame last week. The latter of those two losses was particularly galling, as it was a game that North Carolina looked to have well in hand in the early going. The perfect remedy for a down period may well be a game against a team that you have already dominated earlier in the season, and that is what the Tar Heels get with the Eagles. The last meeting came just a couple of weeks ago, and it was North Carolina who came away with an incredibly comfortable 89-62 win in that one. I would not be surprised to see the Tar Heels take out their frustrations on the Eagles on Tuesday night. North Carolina are averaging 84.5 PPG, and are giving up 70.7 PPG.

Why Bet on the Boston College Eagles

I am finding it almost impossible to make a case for the Boston College Eagles (7-16, 0-10), if only because their conference play has been an exercise in futility. They just haven’t been competitive at all, and haven’t come close to springing any sort of upset during their current 10-game losing skid. The Eagles were the underdog in all 10 of those games, and only managed to cover the spread in 2 of them, which makes it look unlikely that they will be able to manage it here. They were a 26.5-point dog the last time out against North Carolina, and we all know how that ended. I expect the spread to be about the same for this one, and the outcome probably the same, too. The Eagles are averaging 61.6 PPG, and are giving up 69.6 PPG.

Expert Betting Pick and Final Score Prediction

I don’t see any way in which Boston College can keep this thing close, and I believe that North Carolina will run away with this. I might even be being a little kind with my final score prediction. North Carolina Tar Heels 86 Boston College Eagles 56
