Entering last week, No. 4 Baylor had a shot to win the Big 12 regular-season title. But it was a tough week for the Bears and their conference championship hopes are over. Why Bet On Oklahoma?

The Sooners (9-17, 3-11) were a Final Four team last year but are last in the Big 12. The team recently lost its best player, Jordan Woodard, to a torn ACL. A starter on three consecutive NCAA tournament teams, including last season’s Final Four squad, Woodard saw action in 125 career games in a Sooners uniform (124 starts). For his career, he averaged 11.5 points, 3.8 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.5 steals in 29.9 minutes per game. Woodard ranks in the top 10 of the OU records book for numerous career categories. He is fourth in assists (471), fifth in made free throws (440), seventh in steals (186), eighth in free-throw percentage (.812) and eighth in minutes played (3,735). With 1,440 points, Woodard sits in 14th on OU’s career scoring list and fifth among guards. OU is off a 96-92 loss to Oklahoma State. Jeffrey Carroll scored 23 points and Phil Forte added 22 for the Cowboys, who swept the season series for the first time since 2004. Rashard Odomes had career highs of 29 points and 10 rebounds, and Dante Buford and Christian James each scored 13 points for the Sooners. The Cowboys denied Oklahoma coach Lon Kruger his 600th win. The Sooners finished the night shooting 31-of- 56 (.554) from the field and 10-of- 21 (.476) from 3-point range. OU has shot over 50 percent in six games this season with Saturday being the second-best shooting performance of the season. Of Oklahoma’s 92 points, 85 were scored by freshmen and sophomores. One of the youngest teams in the Big 12, Sooner underclassmen are averaging 51.8 combined points in conference contests and make up 72.9 percent of OU’s scoring against Big 12 foes. Freshman guard Kameron McGusty extended his double-digit scoring streak to 14 games, tallying 10 points on 4-of- 7 shooting. His streak is the longest by an OU freshman since Jeff Webster in 1990-91.

Why Bet On Baylor?

The Bears (22-5, 9-5) are now in a three-way tie for second in the Big 12. They are off a 67-65 home loss to No. 3 Kansas on Saturday. Landen Lucas hit a pair of free throws with 11.5 seconds left after rebounding a missed 3-pointer by Devonte Graham, then Baylor’s Manu Lecomte was off target on a potential tying shot at the buzzer. Kansas, which has won 12 consecutive conference championships, now has a three-game lead on Baylor, West Virginia and Iowa State with four games to play. Kansas closed the game on an 8-0 with Baylor going scoreless over the final 3:34 of game time. Baylor is 15-3 this season when leading at the half. The Bears have been hurt in the backcourt this year with inconsistency. If anything, BU’s 22-5 record has come in spite of unreliable composure. Baylor’s now hovering around 300th in turnover percentage; the Bears gave away the ball 16 times vs. Kansas. On your home floor against a top five-level team, 16 turnovers isn’t going to do it. Baylor has lost 10 straight against Kansas, its longest losing streak in the series. Baylor has led Kansas at the half in each of the last 4 meetings, but hasn’t won any of those games losing by 6, 4, 5 and 2 points. Baylor is 8-19 against AP Top 10 teams since March 2012. BU started the Drew era 1-26 vs. top-10. Baylor led Kansas in fouls (18-13) and second chance points (14-11), but trailed points in the paint (36-26) and points off turnovers (20-12). Baylor outshot Kansas 42.9 to 41.8 percent. BU owns a 20-2 record when outshooting its opponent on the season. Both of those losses are against Kansas. Johnathan Motley (19 points) scored in double-figures for the 10th straight game, 22nd time this season and 47th time in his career. BU is 37-10 when he scores 10+ points. Lecomte (16 points) scored in double-figures for the 17th time this season and 42nd time in his DI career
