Tennessee vs Kentucky Expert NCAAB Odds

Written by on February 17, 2016

The Tennessee athletics program has made the news for all the wrong reasons this week, with a class action lawsuit being filed claiming that the program was a rather hostile environment for female athletes. The Volunteers are going to have to try and create some positive headlines, and they can do that by picking up a win at the Rupp Arena in Lexington when they face the Kentucky Wildcats on Thursday, February 18. Game time for this one is set for 7 PM EST on ESPN. The college hoops betting lines will go live anytime soon.

Tennessee Volunteers Vs Kentucky Wildcats Expert NCAAB Odds

When: Thursday, February 18th, 2016, 7:00 PM ET Where: Rupp Arena, Lexington, Kentucky. TV: ESPN Radio: Sirius 83 Stream Option: WatchESPN Opening NCAAB Odds: TBA
After a little bit of a stutter step, the Kentucky Wildcats are beginning to roll gain, and they should be home favorites for this game against Tennessee. That said, it was the Volunteers who sprung the upset against Kentucky a couple of weeks, back, and they may feel that they can do it again. Updated odds for this one will be up at MyBookie.ag starting on Thursday.

Why bet on the Tennessee Volunteers

The Volunteers (12-13, 5-7) proved that they have what it takes to play against the best in the conference when they took out the Wildcats 84-77 back at the beginning of the month. While that victory could have served as a springboard for Tennessee, it didn’t really play out that way, as they went on to lose 2 of their next 3 games. The bad news for the Volunteers is that they only have a single road win in conference play this season, and they will be up against a Kentucky team that always seems to save its best ball for their home fans. This will be a tough test for Tennessee, but with that earlier victory under their belts, perhaps they hold the key to beating the Wildcats this season. The Volunteers are averaging 76.5 PPG, and are giving up 75.0 PPG.

Why bet on the Kentucky Wildcats

The Wildcats (19-6, 9-3) were ranked #20 when they went down to Tennessee, but the fact that they are the #14 team in the country tells you that they didn’t let that single defeat slow them down. They have reeled off 3 straight wins since that game, and are beginning to look as though they might be able to run the table the rest of the way. If you need only one good reason to bet on the Wildcats in this game, it has to be that they have not lost a game at Rupp Arena all season long. You can bet that they will want to get some revenge on the Volunteers for that earlier loss, and what better way to do it with a very vocal home crowd cheering you on. The Wildcats are averaging 78.8 PPG, and are giving up 66.9 PPG.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

While the loss to the Volunteers earlier this month came as a surprise, it would have been a whole lot more shocking if Kentucky had taken that defeat on home court. I don’t see that shock coming this time around, as I like the Wildcats to stay unbeaten in their own building.
