Top 10 JUCO Transfers to Watch During the NCAAB 2020-21 Season

  1. Tyon Grant-Foster 6’7″ Indian Hills CC (Kansas)

The 6-7, 185-pound guard from Indian Hills Community College, spurned offers from other D-I programs like Arkansas, Georgia, and Iowa State to sign with perennially-powerful Kansas. Grant-Foster is a versatile player that can put the ball on the floor or shoot it from distance. He’s set to move into the starting lineup with the Jayhawks losing a trio of starters from last season’s team, including star big man Udoka Azubuike. Scouts say that Grant-Foster is a sure-fire future NBA performer despite his small school start.

  1. Kedrian Johnson 6’6″ John A. Logan College (West Virginia)

Last season. the 6-4 Johnson averaged a stellar 25.5 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game. Johnson has uncanny passing ability and can shoot from anywhere on the floor while also possessing excellent defensive skills. Expectations are that Johnson will be a key contributor right away for West Virginia head coach Bob Huggins.

  1. Sardaar Calhoun 6’4″ Missouri West Plains (Florida State)

The 6’4″ Calhoun decided to bypass a scholarship at a bigger program in order to play at a junior college so he could raise his profile and it worked perfectly. Calhoun was arguably the best shooter in all of JUCO ball last season as he drained nearly 40 percent from beyond the arc. With the Seminoles losing both, Devin Vassell and Trent Forrest, Calhoun will likely plenty of playing time at Florida State for widely-respected head coach Leonard Hamilton.

  1. Keon Ellis 6’4″ FL Southwestern (Alabama)

The 6’4″ guard had a phenomenal season for Florida Southwestern State by averaging 18.1 points, 4.3 board and 2.2 assists per game a year ago. Ellis is a fantastic shooter than drained just ver 40 percent of his three-point attempts last season. Expect Ellis to be a regular rotation player for Crimson Tide head coach Avery Johnson.

  1. Vince Cole 6’5″ USC Salkehatchie (St. John’s)

Cole earned first team All-America and NJCAA Region X Player of the Year honors as a sophomore by putting up 21.4 points per game while shooting an insane 44. 6 percent from three-point distance and 90.1 percent from the free throw line. Cole was also the only junior college player in the nation to be in the 50-40-90 club.

  1. Teddy Allen 6’5″ Western Nebraska (Nebraska)

Allen was named the 2017 Nebraska Gatorade Player of the Year after averaging 31.6 points and 13.0 rebounds per game as a senior to become the first player in the state to average more than 30 points per game since 1996. Allen signed with West Virginia and put up 7.0 points and 2.7 rebounds while playing in 35 of 37 games as a true freshman for the Mountaineers. Still, he then transferred to Wichita State, but never played a game before being dismissed from the program for a misdemeanor arrest. Manuel was set to join Penn State for the upcoming 2020-21 season after originally committing to Seton Hall following his senior year in high school. However, he never signed his Letter of Intent and eventually decided to enroll at Harcum in Bryn Mawr, PA, just outside of Philadelphia. Manuel appeared in 18 games for Harcum College last season, averaging 20.6 points on just under 61% shooting, 11.1 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks per game. He finished his JUCO career as the Bears’ third all-time leading rebounder. A new report says Manuel will now, not join the Nittany Lions, so stay tuned to see where he lands.
