Top College Basketball Parlay Picks (Nov 28 – Dec. 4)

Written by on November 28, 2016

Now that the college football regular season is about over, it’s time to start focusing a big more on NCAA basketball. Here are three nationally televised games this week that I would parlay together to increase your college basketball betting bankroll.

Top College Basketball Parlay Picks (Nov. 28 – Dec. 4)

No. 2 Villanova at Penn, Tuesday

It’s a Philadelphia Big 5 matchup. The defending national champion Wildcats opened the 2016-17 season with six games in 13 days. But they won them all. The Quakers (2-2) opened their season with four consecutive road games — wins at Robert Morris and Central Connecticut State and a loss at Miami and, most recently, a two-point loss at Navy last Wednesday. Last year, Villanova beat Penn 77-57. Jalen Brunson scored 22 points and Daniel Ochefu had 12 points and 10 rebounds. The Wildcats scored the first 14 points and led 30-3. Penn missed 15 of 16 3-point attempts and shot 17 percent overall from the field in the first half. The Wildcats hold a 45-18 lead in the series, and have won 13 in a row over the Quakers including seven straight at The Palestra. The only other time Penn hosted the reigning NCAA champion at The Palestra was January 27, 1986 — coincidentally, also Villanova. The Wildcats won that game, 68-64. This is one of just two true non-conference road games defending NCAA champion Villanova will play this season. The other came on November 14 when the Wildcats went to Purdue as part of the Gavitt Games. Take Nova.

No. 17 Purdue at No. 10 Louisville, Wednesday

This is part of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. The Boilers come off a 79-68 win over NJIT. In their first game since winning the Cancun Challenge, Purdue returned to Mackey Arena on Saturday and used a second-half run to pull away. In the process, sophomore Caleb Swanigan put his name in the Purdue record books, making 6-of- 6 field goals and 10-of- 10 free throws, scoring 22 points, the most in Purdue history on perfect shooting efficiency. Swanigan also had 13 rebounds, recording his fifth double-double in six games this season and fourth in a row, this time against a rugged 2-3 zone applied by the Highlanders. The Cards lost their first game Friday, 66-63 to No. 20 Baylor in the Bahamas. Donovan Mitchell scored 17 points for Louisville. The Cardinals shot just 33 percent (9 of 27) in the second half, with coach Rick Pitino pointing to mental fatigue as a factor in the second half. Maybe the biggest concern through six games is Louisville’s shooting. The Cards have made 33.9 percent of their 2-point jump shots and 32 percent of their 3-pointers. The 2-point shooting percentage ranks 226th (out of 351) in the country, and that 3-point percentage ranks 249th.

Ohio State at No. 7 Virginia, Wednesday

Also part of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge and both are 6-0. OSU beat Marshall 111-70 on Friday. Marc Loving scored 20 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead Ohio State. Jae’Sean Tate added 20 points, and Kam Williams made five 3-pointers and finished with 17 points for the Buckeyes. UVA beat Providence 63-52 on Saturday in the finals of the Emerald Coast Classic. Virginia won its first five games by 24 or more points, but Saturday, it led by six points with 10:23 left in the contest. However, Providence made only four field goals during the remainder of the game. Virginia point guard London Perrantes, named the tournament MVP, led the Cavs with 11 points, eight rebounds, and five assists. These teams played in the Challenge last year and UVA won 64-58. Perrantes was out injured for the Cavs.
