The teams that are currently sitting in the top 25 can relax a little during the final week of the regular season, as they already know that they will be making the trip to the big tournament. That said, every team heading into March Madness wants to go in on a bit of a hot streak, which is why finishing strong and doing well in their respective conference tournaments is job one. The SMU Mustangs are currently ranked #14 in the nation, and it looks as though they are going to be sitting atop the American Conference at the end of this week. There is still some college basketball point spreads work to be done, though, and it all begins on Thursday night with a visit from the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes. This is a game that SMU would be expected to breeze through, but as Cincinnati’s recent loss to UCF proves, you cannot take anything for granted, especially at this stage of the season when it might appear to be okay to let up a little.
