March Madness is underway, which means it’s time to start thinking about where the upsets might come from this season. It’s not a good idea to look at the #16 seeds, as they have never been able to topple a #1 in the history of the tournament. What past tournaments have shown us, though, is that there is often real value to be found in the 10 through 12 seeds, which is where the biggest upsets are likely to strike in the opening round. If that does indeed ring true this year, then it might be worth taking a look at the USC Trojans as potential upset makers. They are a team riding a bit of a high after making a dramatic comeback in their First Four game versus Providence. They will enter the tournament as the #11 seed, and will head into the East Region with an opening round game versus the SMU Mustangs.
